Sylvia , I think you did a great job with the post processing . I have tried to edit your original one but couldn't get something better . I like that you were able to bring out the texture without overdoing it. Very well done and lovely picture. |

Sorry I am late as well. I agree with the comments above . Cropping was necessary . You got a beautiful blurred background , beautiful light on the Bird and most of all the Sharpness of the bird is perfect.1/500sec, I am really impressed . Hand held or did you use a Tripod ? I am starting bird Photography and finding difficult to get sharp bird. Your answer is much appreciated . It is a beautiful picture which deserves to be hung on your wall , for sure. Congrats!!!! |

Art , it is a very interesting picture . Very well controlled . I really love it. Also, I like your attempt to take risks, in this case it is again very successful and it is enthralling. The crop is clever . In a way the picture is more minimalist and dynamic ( i like the arms moving around the piece of wood ). You just captured the essential beautifully. I don't see anything I could change in the editing of this picture . But for sure , I would print it and hang it on my walls above our piano if it was mine .Congrats!!!! |

I just played around and tried to convert in Black and White. Unfortunately I don't have access to Silver efex anymore but would have loved to play more .what do you think? |

Kurtis, very successful and nice treatment of this picture. I love your subject .One of my favorite. I am a big fan of trees and am looking for trees by themselves whenever I can . The colors are very bright and enhance the mood of your picture of this almost dead Tree. But , I feel there is a competition between the beautiful sky and this very unique , interesting Tree. Thus , I think the green grass is a bit oversaturated .
In another hand I tend to like the original where the Tree stands more as a Silhouette again a plain background . It is more about the Tree in the original I think.
If you want to work more on this image , I would suggest to try to pick up a similar colorful sky with less texture, and less clarity ( smoother) in order to the Tree to not compete with the sky. Two different mood and honestly I like both.

Beautiful image Gabriele. Love the different layers and the colors of the early morning . I really love the background , and the sea of clouds in foreground and mid ground , really nice composition.
I would have been tempted to take more pictures with a telephoto to get some close ups of the foreground as well . But this landscape is very powerful and I really enjoy it . You can print it. Congrats!!!
