Kurtis , to me It is a successful attempt . The cross is Majestuous in front of the Infinity , The Milky way . I find this image very powerful. And I agree with Art Comments. Congrats !!!! |

Art , you image is very creative and ARTSY.
I really like the effect and composition. I could meditate in front this image, and would have loved to stand in front this scenery . but there is a but that is very subjective. The magenta color is too bright for my eyes and doesn't work with the green and red, in my opinion ( As I said it is very subjective and not a critic) ...I really like the leading purpose of those clouds . Maybe more brown color? have you tried ? would be curious to see the difference . I really like the foreground , grass and reflection. Your attempt works for me except the magenta color. |

Marge , I really like this close up. And I like to dive in your image. It is my style too and I am so happy we are using both Canon camera and the same 100mm Macro lens. We might share some images in the future. Have you already used this lens handheld or only on Tripod? Gabriele comment has confused me a little bit and would love to learn from both of you . I am not an expert with MACRO photography but I have practiced for many Springs in our garden . Congrats!

Gabriele , I echo Marge comment. If I can add my input ( and i am not an expert) but I would try to rotate the flower a little bit to get it more in diagonal, it might increase the dynamic effect. Love this Lavender color. |

Thank you Gabriele for your feedback. Much appreciated . I don't see this image out of focus ( maybe my eyes don't see very well) , it is a selected focus on the spider. But I can understand you prefer something shaper .
I have used this lens for portrait for many years hand held and was happy with results. Besides this lens has a stabilizer.
I am learning something from you,I didn't know I should use this lens only on tripod .. could you elaborate your comment, please? because I am not sure I understand why? my shutter speed was 1/400s...Many thanks in advance . |
