Thanks Shirley. I do really like how monochrome accentuates texture and detail. Reminds me of the days of yellow filters with Tri-X 400 :-) |

Bob, excellent observation...hence the title 'Skywalker'. Thanks! |

Fred, very well done fantasy storytelling...unique and engaging! I agree with Sam...the image seems too flat and lacks contrast. If you don't mind the suggestion, I used DXO's Clearview function to 'dehaze' and raise the contrast a bit. The mood is a little less dark, but to me the scariness is up a notch. |

Angela, I fully agree with Sam's comments. Your brushstrokes are superb! Excellent addition to a already beautiful image! |

Bob, you've really transformed the original image into a painting. The acrylic effect is very pleasing and the choice of red hue of the background really adds impact. A little bit of the right side might benefit from a slight crop. Being somewhat of a contrarian, I like the accent green :-)! Nicely done! |

I do like the compositional elements you've combined and the strong sense of story. Well done! There is one small nit that distracts my eye: your wife and scarf have a shadow, where the left railing does not have an equivalent. A fun and very enjoyable image! |

Bob, Howard, Lee Ann...thanks for your comments and suggestions. I agree the bluish area is a distraction. The intensity of the foreground foliage was as intended. Much appreciated! |

Helen...I appreciate your concern. She actually thought it was fine. I intended to show a deeper story about our relationship with age, especially resilience and strength.

Thanks for you comments, Helen! The 'model' is my wife. Her presence and red jacket were serendipitous. Sometimes it is better to lucky :-). The largest tree is a Coastal Douglas Fir. In this grove, it is estimated to be as much as 1000 years old. Other than compressing the tonal range, I didn't attempt to alter the hue of any area. The blue is a peek at the sky and matches my memory. |
