Yes I do see that additionality. Reflections can lead to such interesting illusions. I suppose that is because so much of what we see is symmetric and so we quickly pattern match in our minds. |

I think this is very well executed capture of a fascinating subject. The sharpness of the framework (?) is particularly striking and seems to me to be retained for the depth of the image.
Was it deep? or is the depth an illusion?
Whatever the answer, I am captivated by the pattern you have revealed. |

ambiguous indeed - am I seeing the face of an Ewok or the female form - only my analyst will know.
For me, the image has many pleasing aspects: the contrast between the smooth "eyes" and the rough skin, the color evolution from bottom to top, the tree's texture in general.
I actually wonder if this duplication was necessary. |

Mariann - I see a beautiful mood in the image - with the subtle color of the sky effectively crowning the bird
I think it works best as a collection of lines - formed by by the pillars and the ropes between. The bird becomes for me an accent rather than a subject. If you prefer to change that I think you would need to eliminate the right most piller. |

For me the colors standout particularly the balance between the rocks in the bottom left and the water in the top right. My eye is drawn along the diagonal to taken them both in. Like Karl, I feel that the image comes across as over processed, to the extent that it distracts. |

Judith, I love what you have done with this tree. I have used it myself, but I really taken with your reduction of it to a single silhouette. I think it really effective.
Particularly I applaud the non-standard orientation: putting it sideways seems to rely so much more on the lines and structure than on mere mimetics (my new favourite word).
In my view you have softened the outcome in your choice of angle and also the inclusion of so much negative space. I would have cut it as below since I feel that the more vertical/horizontal placement of the branches denotes strength.

I see you kept it all in focus (!) something I so often fail to do in macro flowers and the still soft but defined detail on the petals I think is lovely. For me, and just a personal impression, I see beauty in the disorder. |

Peter, I am impressed by the control of lighting (taken in the outside world) with even the outside background well within range. As to composition, I like the boots on the bottom left corner and the way the leg and rifle follow the horizontal in the bottom right - they form a very strong base on which to stand the (triangle) of subjects.
Great face - especially the lance corporal.

I think this is a remarkable capture of a moving creature: I see this was likely helped by the higher ISO and then Topaz, worked very well here. For me the key is the almost matching of the veins and the feathers in terms of acuity and patterning.
I might have cropped to 9:16 in photoshop to isolate a little more. |

I think this a great composition, with such careful symmetry. A great capture of a wonderful piece of machinery
Originally I was going to suggest that Nik software is my go-to B&W manipulation and never work without it: since it quickly offers a range of different manipulations to suit all tastes.
Commercial aside - I was then going to suggest that the plane in the distant air was a detraction from the so nicely located person ... but then I went a little crazy. PLEASE FORGIVE ME |
