Hi Karen,
A very emotive place, which I visited many years ago. As with all memorials, it deserves our respect and our continued remembrance of the terrible events it represents. I can only hope (in vain) such things are never repeated anywhere in the world.
Regarding the image, it's a well?seen opportunity and it definitely adds to the story.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Greg,
Great nature shot. The viewer's eye is immediately drawn to the heron's eye, and there's lovely detail throughout the rest of the bird. The background is nicely muted and doesn't distract from the subject.
I did notice what looks like a fish or crab in the bird's beak, though it isn't immediately obvious at first glance, which is shame.
There's also a branch in the background that lines up with the beak, which is a minor distraction. As a suggestion, you might consider removing that and perhaps a slight crop, though I'm perfectly happy with the image as it is.

Hi Ingrid,
Lovely image. I really like the funnel effect that draws the viewer toward the mountains, with the cloud base reinforcing that sense of depth. The composition is nicely framed by the tree on the front left and the tree line on the right.
I'm not a fan of the bright white clouds, as they feel a bit distracting to me. As a suggestion, you could try adding a dark gradient from the top of the image downward to reduce the brightness in the clouds and sky.

Hi Kamal,
The beautiful, luminous light really makes this image shine. I love the way you've handled the roofline-there's just enough detail and illumination to enhance the scene without pulling attention away from the lovely, brighter entrance. The reflection on the stairs leading into the mosque draws the viewer in wonderfully.
The turquoise shading in the hall complements the roof detail nicely, and the POV works extremely well. The people on the stairs add a great sense of scale, and I think they definitely strengthen the composition.
The only minor distraction for me is the structure in the bottom left-it looks a bit like a control box.

Hi Darcy, well constructed image, I like the flowing line with the wall profile following the landscape from left to top right, with the larger tree anchoring the viewers eye. Texture and sharpness works well with shadow detail handled very well. The green against the blue sky adds interest. I think I would like to see the archway moved to the right a bit so that it is not dead centre, if your original would allow for that.
Nice image with interesting history. |
