14 Sep 25 Comment Hi Karen, very interesting and intriguing image. I do like your composition showing just half of the circle and stairway with the very dark handrail leading the viewer into the image. The ability to see through the stairs to the top of the tower also adds to the image. All in all very interesting and well handled image. Sep 10th
14 Sep 25 Comment Nice Erin, I can see why you were drawn to this. I like the balance of the image, particularly the balance of the tree in the background to the flower in the foreground. I think the minimal colour range also makes a very nice image. There are unfortunately two things that I'm not a fan of in the image, one is the fenceline out of focus, particularly with the front part of the flower being out of focus. For my eye, it might be a little bit better balanced if the front flower bud was sharp perhaps then the fenceline focus would not be such an issue to me. Sep 10th
14 Sep 25 Comment Very dramatic Greg. You have handled the dark tones in the original image, bringing out the action of the rider extremely well, together with the toning of the horse and cow working well in your edit. Background is handled very well, hints of the background without taking anything away from the main image. While I do like your edits (using auto paint and Topaz), the effect overall works well, except for the effect on the rider's shirt. Personal taste, but to me it just seems way too sharp for a shirt in the style of environment., As I said, it's my personal taste. Perhaps needs to be toned down a little bit. Sep 10th
14 Sep 25 Comment Hi Ingrid, Lovely vista and very interesting scene. The eye is drawn into the scene, and the placement of the hut works well for this. The image also has a split toning effect, which is very nice, with a warmish foreground and a coolish blue background into the very dramatic Cliff edges. This is very appealing. The sky works well together with capturing a hint of sunlight on the upper mountain edge. Not much I can add to improve, perhaps a strong vignette to draw the eye more to the hut as an experimen.
