14 Jan 25 Reply Thank you Karen, very good idea to go square format to accentuate the symmetry, kicking myself that I didn't think of that.

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Kamal, Lovely image well captured. I particularly like the way the eye is drawn to the main large island in the foreground with the viewer then directed towards the second occupied island in the group. The viewer is then left to explore the other islands and archipelago in the system. The analogous colour scheme works really well in this image with the hues blending seamlessly. It is a shame the cloud is there but I do not believe it detracts too much from the image. well seen and captured. Jan 16th

14 Jan 25 Reply Thank you Darcy, yep a crop of the foreground is definitely needed, I'm surprised I didn't notice before I posted. Thanks you Jan 10th

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Darcy, very interesting image and I do like your choice of crop, which gives dominance to the central subject, the church tower. The separation of the buildings to the vegetation in the background and foreground, again adds to the prominence of the central elements.

As a suggestion, try and increase the saturation and brightness, marginally, of the clocktower and/or reduce the other buildings to try and bring the clocktower out more. It does have prominence as it is, this adjustment may add a bit more strength to the tower, just to experiment. Lovely image well captured and handled

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Karen, it definitely looks like a dramatic vista with plenty of detail featured, giving viewers no doubt as to the ruggedness of this area. The foreground elements giving a sense of scale to the image. On my screen it does looks a bit flat.

I hope you don't mind, I had a play with your image, created a freehand vignette, around the near rock faces and river to feature this area together with a slight saturation to bring out the tones of the rock more.

Of course these changes my own personal taste and giving a different feel to the image from the original which is strong enough as is as you have presented

I'm envious, would have love to visit this area

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Erin,
Beautifully captured image, the heron is well separated from the background with well defined detail in the face and the back of the bird. A very slight blurring on the furthest wingtips to be expected with the droplets of water giving the full story of the bird taking flight. I particular like the difference in tonal range from the blues featured in the water to the blue grey, featured in the back of the bird. Well captured and handled shot

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Greg, nice humorous well handled and captured image, and appropriate for this time of year.

Not sure what the young lady was requesting for Christmas but Santa looks shocked :)

14 Jan 25 Comment Hi Ingrid, lovely image, I particularly like the low angle of the sun creating long shadows and highlights in the foliage and providing texture to the riverbank and snow. The river creating the leading line gives a degree of mystery to the viewer as to what is around the next curve of the river. I think the sky is appropriate for this image and your choice to leave the blue in gives another suggestive element of the environment. All in all beautiful image. Jan 10th
