Thank you for that Darcy, and the white spot is a distraction that I didn't notice, thanks for pointing that out. |

Hi Kamal
Well-captured image with beautiful colours and the detail throughout is spot on. Shadows in the foreground seem to give a direction leading the viewer into the image. Your image definitely depicts a festival atmosphere. What I do find distracting is that the young man leading the camel is looking straight at the camera I cannot but look at him. Unfortunately, I don't have any comments or recommendations on how to handle that. nice image depicting the event, well caught. |

Hi Xiao
great spontaneous capture of this bird. With a beautiful colour rendition and sharp throughout. It definitely stands out from the background with the tree giving a sense of where he launched from. I am of two minds with the tree, I believe it needs to be part of the image but given how sharp it is a distraction to me, suggest you play with softening just the tree not a large amount, just to see if that removes a bit of the distraction and places the full focus on the bird. Well-captured image. |

Hi Darcy nice capture. I'm a bit different to Greg in that to me the plant was quite scary with those spikes, particularly when considering the lower section of the image itself looks creepy.
With the image itself, the background is well blurred while still giving a sense of the area the plant is in, and the highlights from the top two-thirds of the image definitely draws the eye to that section of the plant. I like the curvature of the plant leading upwards also seems to draw the eye. My only recommendation is to consider a larger depth of field next time, some of the buds in the background which are part of the plant itself are a bit soft compared to those at the front of the plant. I personally have a hard time getting correct focus when playing with semi-macro shots. when I say next time, I'm sure you'd love to go back. |

Hi Ingrid.
Interesting competition assignment. Well-captured images with the stitching working exceptionally well, you might wish to look at the image on the bottom right corner it does seem to have a white line dividing it from the image above which I cannot detect in any of the other images. All images seem to have a degree of mystery except for the one in the top left corner which is quite a defined object, just for your consideration would another image with a higher degree of mystery suit the whole presentation. Although I do like the split pinned image it is just that it is very different to the others to my eye. Well done very creative idea on how to accomplish the challenge. |
