Hi Karen, thanks for that input, it does seem that a crop is in order. I think I was seduced by the lighting on the frond however that is not part of this image. thank you |

Hi Xiao, thanks for that input and it seems that a crop is definitely in order. Agree with the eye being important but with backlight this was not easily achieved with this image |

Hi Kamal
Very nice composition, very well done as you say this is your first attempt.
The image balance works well with a pathway leading to the distance and the people progressing to that same distance point all draw the eye to that point. I think if the people were walking in the other direction it would add a degree of confusion so this composition, to me this composition works well. The secondary path leading to the left anchors the moon into the image. The foggy atmosphere of the lighting gives a nice touch and feel and the separation of the image into two distinct zones, with the bright sculptures in the middle, adds to the balance of the image.
My only suggestion, there is a tower or a light pole to the bottom right of the moon which I don't think adds to the image and is easily removed if you choose to do that. Well captured nicely balanced image well done with this composition. Thanks for sharing |

Hi Xiao, a great capture, the bird's wings in action and a very slight blur on the wingtips to give the feel of motion,
The bird's eye is sharp and the berry in its beak works well for a beautiful nature shot. Together with the fact that the berry the head and the eye are all framed by the wings, I think really makes this shot stand out, the framing of the branch above and below also adds to this.
The detail in the bird is brilliant and the blurring of the background and sharpness where it needs to be sharp all works to make this a great image I would be pleased to have an image like this. |

Hi Greg a well-captured image immediately brings a smile to my face. The chap sitting with Santas definitely makes the image with his smile and pose and indeed his outfit.
You have done well in isolating them from the untidy background, from the original and I agree Adobes AI technology is a great help in masking and selecting subjects.
The contrast between the main subjects and the dark background definitely draws the viewer in, together with the brightness of the image and the catch light in the eyes, their smiles makes the image.
Well-composed image with the colours and luminous values all working together to create a wonderful image, thanks for sharing |

I Darcy a very interesting image, at first glance I thought I was looking up and only on further investigating the image I realised that you are looking down. Knowing how crowded this location is I think you have done well capturing the stairs without anybody else on them. The texture of the stonework and the stairs presents very well and gives a realistic look to the image. I do like the tonal range of darks to lights as you progress down the stairwell perhaps giving a feeling of hope or anticipation. To me a very nice geometric image that draws the eye in. |

Hi Karen.
A very well-captured portrait, with the subject looking directly at the camera and the catch light in the eyes immediately, draws the viewer in. The smile evident in both the eyes and the face works well this together with the analogic tonal range of the hair the background and the jumper, complemented with the paintbrushes all work extremely well to make the image. The background is blurred enough but still gives a representation of the environment and altogether the pose looks very realistic and comfortable.
My only negative comment is the paintbrush bristles look a bit too white and not realistic to my eye, perhaps adding a few dark small lines to break up the bulk of the whiteness might assist this image. Altogether a beautiful portrait well well captured. |

Hi Ingrid I do love what you have done to this image giving it a very misty ethereal feel while adding a touch of mystery to the scene.
Black-and-white conversion works well with the progressive softness from the front of the image to the back of the image giving a realistic look.
A few things stand out which detract from the image in my view. Along the foliage line at the bottom of the trees in the foreground, there appears to be a whole lot of vertical stripes, which may be trying to represent tall grasses growing, but to my eye, there is a degree of regularity about them which I think is a bit distracting.
Other than that image definitely has a high degree of appeal to me. |
