Hi Ingrid, a nice visitor to your backyard.
You have caught the eyes well and separated him/her from the background together with handling the feathers well. There is enough interest in the tree branches and textures to add to the scent without distraction.
Not much I can suggest particularly if it is destined for a Nature competition if not aiming for a competition, the orange spot right centre of the frame is a very minor distraction. Nice image thanks for sharing |

Thank you for that Karen, the light swirls are meant to represent smoke perhaps raisin from a foundry or welding process. However, they are a bit bright on the edge and could be toned down a bit, thanks for pointing that out. |

Hi Xiao
A well-posed shot in an environment suitable for the story related. I find the final image shadows particularly on the model's face to be a bit too strong, for my liking. In this my preference is for the original, however, that is personal taste and dos not satisfy the look you were after. |

Hi Kamal, a lovely vibrant image that certainly depicts the story you have related, thank you for that. There is no doubt when looking at the image that it is a festive scene, a very well attended scene and to me, this image works well as both a historical account of the event and a photojournalistic style photo.
Indeed in these times, a March of Peace is definitely what is needed. Lovely image portraying the scene thanks for sharing |

Hi Darcy will capture vibrant image the colouring of the bird blending with the foliage works well. I agree with Greg that there is a halo around the bird perhaps generated when you are sharpening the image. There are also traces of halo around the plants as well this is typical when the sharpening is pushed too far. Might I suggest softening of the image itself and only applying the sharpening to the bird avoiding the edges of the bird. Not sure if that will work but worth a try. Nice vibrant image I wish birds would like this would sit still for me so I could take photos. |

Hi Greg, I like what you have done with this image, you have blurred the background just enough to make it realistic and remove the two ladies in the foreground of the original very well. I think the crop of the model works well. The only suggestion I would make is that the model looks like a cardboard cutout plastered over the image I suggest softening the edges around the model just fractionally might assist in making it a more realistic approach. It would be better to do this with a cut out of the model originally however I have taken the liberty of playing with your image and placed a minor blur around the model's edge is to illustrate what I mean. It's a very subtle blur so hopefully comes up on the image. Well executed and a great idea. |

Hi Karen. Well seen and well-captured image, to me you have met the theme of the assignment and I like your choices in postprocessing. I might suggest that the Veranda/patio/landing deck, however Australian translates to American :) , is a bit too dark, on my screen, there is plenty of detail in the original but you seem to have lost a lot of that detail in your edit. A nice black-and-white image, good luck when presenting. |
