Hi Kamal
A great photojournalist style image. You have caught the action and the image leaves no question as to what is going on. Your selective focusing on the sign and a number of people around it gives strength to the image, with the blurring of the background participants giving that sense of depth. Not much I can offer in way of improvements to this image other than toning down to bright white stripes, image left and at the background. Thanks for sharing and wishing you great photographic opportunities 2022. |

Hi Ingrid.
Another nice capture from your series @75 mph, I agree with the other contributors and find the high texture or grain off-putting to my eye. I took the liberty of playing with your image, in Lightroom, reducing the texture to -31 and clarity to -70 then increasing the contrast to +35. I found the image a bit more pleasing to my eye, as in all things photographic this is quite subjective. Thanks for sharing and wishing you great photography opportunities in 2022

Hi Xiao, for my eye the face on edit 2 looks a lot more natural. I like what you have done with the full edits process from edit 1 to the final |

Hi Xiao, another image showing off your skills posing the models, works well as a fashion shoot showing off the clothes the shoes and the socks. The environment is well handled with lovely textures in the blockwork of the building. A few suggestions, the model's face (on my screen) seem to have an unnatural orange tint, this may have been picked up when you were editing the stonework. The reflection of the truck in the window is also a little bit distracting I believe the image would be improved if you were to clone this out. Another lovely fashion shoot image well caught and processed. All the best for the New Year hope it provides you with plenty of photographic opportunities. |

Hi Greg, a great image caught and process well. The image certainly gives a depiction of granger with the background mountains giving a sense of the scale of the whole area The clouds behind the top of the arch work will in giving that contrast and the sun on the side illuminates the arch well. I have seen other images of this with somebody in the foreground which gives a sense of scale to the arch itself, while it is a very good image, I think would benefit by having somebody in the foreground to give that sense of scale. Lovely image well captured and processed. All the best for the New Year hope it presents you with many great photographic opportunities. |

Hi Karen definitely an image that puts a smile on the face, great positioning to have the hose stream in front of the dark area of the image, the trees, and definitely a well caught moment. The fence comes up well and the balance of the dark foreground to the light background in my view assists the image. Choice of shutter speed works well, enough definition to fully understand the subject while still giving a sense of movement. As a fun image, it works extremely well and it is always good to use our craft to bring a smile, all the best for the New Year I hope it brings many photographic opportunities for you. |

Hi Darcy.
Interesting history on this ship with an active life of some 40 plus years and probably a very hard life as well. An interesting aspect to take this head-on and I understand your reasoning, it really does present the beam is very narrow and streamlined. The choice to go black-and-white works well together with the tonal range in contrast levels you have achieved, the different luminous levels on either side of the ship, the shadow in the water contrasting with the general water areas and the contrast of the antenna against the sky. All in all the image works well. It's just a shame that there wasn't something on the left side to replicate the tonal range of the dock. Great image well caught and processed well.
thanks for sharing. |
