Hi Syed, Definitely captured the moment and unfortunately reminds me of my days as a young tradesmen doing that sort of thing, and there is absolutely no way I would even think about it now. The image is well exposed and enough detail to leave no doubt about the task at hand. The clouds are well-placed, I think having him against a clear blue sky provides better definition. Where you have removed the other worker I believe there are too many artefacts which are a distraction. There is also something that looks like a cut-and-paste on the left of the beam not too sure what that is. A nice well captured image, which brings back many memories. Thank you for posting |

Thank Darcy, yep it is very busy, perhaps defining and zoning in on that by cropping is the way to go, thanks for the input. |

Thanks Xiao, I agree I think it is over-processed and sharpened to much. |

Hi Greg, nice portrait, very relaxed and depicts a natural comfortable scene. You have done a good job handling the shadow of the hat on his forehead, also with the background handled well for this scene. On my screen the colour on his face and carried over to the horse looks a bit too warm or over-saturated, slightly unnatural, (a personal choice) |

Hi Karen, beautiful scene and the texture in the sky adds to the impact of the colourful scene. I agree with Greg and Xiao, the image is very soft I'm assuming it was handheld, difficult to capture handheld at 1/40 sec. Handheld at the speed is doable just look up shooting techniques on youtube. another suggestion you might want to look at with this type of scene is to have a foreground object in the scene a rock, tree branch type thing t add interest. loverly sky I would love to have been there to capture. |

Hi Darcy. Lovely image wish I was there. The image shows a feeling of chill in the air with the mountaintop penetrating through the clouds gives a definite sense of mystery. While the flagpole gives a sense of scale I don't believe it is true justice to the monolith you are portraying here. You handled the contrast well between the snow and the ground also within the ridges of the mountainside itself very well it definitely shows the texture of this monolith. A minor suggestion I think there is contrast still to be drawn out of the clouds which might show a sense of the pending storm may be worth working on the contrast of the clouds a bit more. Lovely image as stated show was there for this one. |

Hi Xiao another loverly environmental portrait. Processing the fashion has been handled very well particularly the black coat it is always difficult to coax texture from a black garment balancing against the brights of the photograph. As you indicated he was a fashion student I am sure he would be happy with that result. Your image betrays an emotive story, obviously up to the viewer, to me it portrays a degree of rejection or waiting. I like the way you have anchored the left side of the photograph with the stone column and then matched it with a vignette on the right-hand side to centre the image towards the model. Overall a very good image congratulations the only comment I would make is that while the rose is not the main part of the story is still there and on my screen, it does not have a huge amount of texture or definition perhaps a minor re-addressing of the rose may improve the image. Well done thanks for sharing

Loverly image, separation of the front trees to the background defines the main image with the mist rising adds to the mood. Great image and well captured. Might I suggest the top right is a bit bright drawing the eye out of the image, toning this down to balance with the left top might add to strengthing the front trees. Also, (experimental thought) try and see if darkening (burn) the lower tree trunks further defines, strengthens, the glow of the upper branches. would have loved to have been there. |
