Thank you, Agnes! I am glad that the sci-fi vibes come through. - I think that the eyes may not have reached their full potential yet. I will pick some other exposures, and start playing with them in Photoshop. |

Thank you, Jose! Creepy sci-fi look was exactly the aim! - It was pure luck that the lamp was exactly the right shape. I had discovered it first and taken a lot of pictures. Then I stumbled on the pipe, took the photo, went back to the lamp, and just fitted it in place. |

Hi Agnes, I am with you about the blue tones that I think strengthen the impression of ice and snow. My eye takes first in the strong geometric forms in the composition, against the sky with the soft organic forms of the clouds, and the contrast between the cold tones in the foreground and the warmer tones in the sky, and then starts to admire the shadows and the subtle texture in the snow. |

Hi Jose, I think that the treatment brings a fine bird image to a next level. You show
the essence of the birds in a graphical way, and I love the way their reflections behave. My eye picks first the lonely bird taking a step in the middle, and moves round the image with all the variations of pose of the little groups and individuals. |

Hi Terry, this outing concept sounds fascinating, I wish we had something like that, too. - I think that you have certainly made the most of the fish eye: in addition to a full view of the magnificent hall, there is a lovely surrealistic quality from the perspective distortion. It looks like the checkerboard floor is only waiting for Alice and the Queen of Hearts. I think that black-and-white is a perfect choice. |

Hi Mervyn, what a lovely palette of greens and play of light and shadow! The zigzag line formed by the roads and the outlines of the terrain lead one deep into the image, and the diagonals crossing the frame add to the three-dimensional feeling. I love the bright sunlit foreground against the colder tones further back. |

Hi Tony, the viper looks like an exquisite jade ornament, with the symmetric coils and all the hues of green in the skin. I think that you have used the light beautifully to define the coils and the texture of the skin. I wonder if darkening the lighter areas in the background might show him off even more effectively. |

Hi Bob, I like both versions, but would vote for the more abstract one. I think that it looks like a flock of mermaids with their hair floating on the surface. I love the bold wild quality of the swirling forms and the color contrast. Maybe you could adjust the vibrance of the blue down a tiny bit? |

Thank you, Bob, I do agree. - I just saw "The Dune" in the movies, and the sand worms were strongly in my mind. I'll have to go back to the site and see if there is another camera angle, or maybe something I can do in Photoshop, to make the Worm visible also to others. |

Thank you, Robert! I think that the story changes with how much of the interior gets revealed. I think that you are right about the little bright spot - I kept removing and putting it back, but it probably draws too much attention. |

Hi Trung, what a lovely landscape! I think that both Al's and Jeff's suggestions about alternative crop would work well. I would lean towards cropping off part of the sky because the foreground is so interesting, and as Jeff says, leads the viewer into the image. |

Al, "Wow" was also my first reaction before I read JeffÂs comment. In addition to being a fine Nature shot, I think that it is very pleasing purely esthetically, with the lines of the feathers in the spread wings. |

Hi Ed, I think, too, that you have captured the spirit of the players beautifully at the perfect moment. I love the way you froze the action with everybodyÂs eye on the ball, also those of the two kids slightly out of focus in the background. They give a nice depth to the image. - I agree with the others about the vignette. |

Hi Robert, an awesome sight! I think that there is a special attraction in the monochrome version. My attempt for contribution is subtler than Jeff's: in Affinity Photo, I started with an elliptoid gradual brightness mask round the Milky Way that darkens the surrounding areas, and erased part of the mask at the bottom to show something of the foreground. Then I went to Levels, adjusted mainly Gamma, and made small changes in black and white levels. I like the centered composition, and I think that the mask actually forms a vignette to direct the eye to the center. |

Jeff, you have captured his enjoyment and satisfaction perfectly, I can almost feel how he deeply inhales the smoke. I love the crop that fills the frame with the essential. - I wonder if you could crop off a tiny bit from the left edge to eliminate the brighter fold of his shirt that may draw the eye, and maybe a bit from the right edge, too, for balance? |

Thank you, Peggy - again you catch exactly what I was after! I think that this is a dream she has in the prison cell, waiting for her execution. - The model keeps joking about a photo shoot where the directions were "please look more sad and serious" instead of "smile!" |

Thank you, Brad - the island where the story is set is actually closer to home, but the Gotland flowers from another trip had exactly the right look of the mythic herb. I will experiment with the darker tones. |

Hi Maria, I think that it is just perfect now! The hook disappears in the background so that one almost has to look twice to detect it, and the crane remains intact. I can see there this flow that Bruce describes now. |

Thank you so much, Bruce! I was bothered by the hand myself, too, especially by the well manicured nails, and kept adding various layers to soften it. I wonder if it would be better to try to remove it altogether, or to hide it under extra layers? |

Bruce, next night I am going to dream of your proud young woman whom you made stand as straight and strong as her tower. She comes from my very favorite period of history. - Her direct gaze and this little confident smile tell that she is ready for her future responsibilities. The soft shades of green, brown and grey tie her into the scenery, and I can almost feel the textures of the various fabrics in her outfit. And the dark clouds with the silver linings are a perfect background |

Hi Peggy, what a mixture of lovely pastels and geometry - you have made a futuristic "Wow" architecture square of your own. I love the reflections on the pavement, and I am trying to figure to what exactly makes this authentic feel of night lit by articial lights. The bright angel statue and the circular forms in the foreground draw my eye quite strongly, and I was thinking what the image would look like without the Orig. 2 component - the wonderful atmosphere and the Walker might come out more strongly? |

Hi Brad, this is terrific! It is obvious that winter has taken the children by surprise, and they are struggling to survive. I think that the leaf that fills the frame leaves just the right amount of the background visible although it is a pity to cover so much of the fine forest image. I think that the texture gives a feeling of snow in the air. The effective contrast of cold and warm colors, and the body language of your brave kids make the mood. - I think that there might be more tension in the image with only the boy who is also in a very good spot compositionwise? I like very much the present version, too - it makes a lovely story of companionship. |

Hi Maria! If Alan's night scene is full of drama, yours is gentle and playful. I love the way the captured moon illuminates the little hunters, and their postures mediate their wonder and delight. The finger pointing at their catch is precious. The moonlight on the waves is absolutely lovely, too.. I think that the crane contributes a lot to the sense of depth of the image, forms part of a frame for the action, and ties the moon in the sky in the composition beautifully, , but I feel that the hook may be rather prominent against the lighter sky in the center of the image? |

Alan, I think that you are right about her not reaching the moon - I feel her desperate longing, and the cold indifference of the Moon that calmly keeps travelling its orbit. I think that it is the pale brightness of the Moon against the dark tones of the rest of the image that, to me, creates a tragic mood. The ladder is a lovely incongruent element in what could be an archaic scene. - I was wondering about the ballerina's left hand and arm, that, due to the perspective, may look slightly unproportinally large and elongated. Of course that may emphasize the reaching idea? |
