26 Nov 22 Reply Thank you! The changes Agnes made are a great improvement! Nov 16th
26 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Agnes! I think that lightening just the outlines of his back as you showed does the trick! Nov 11th
26 Nov 22 Comment A nature story at its best, and a perfect image! I think that Bob has a good point about the brightness of the branch. - It would be nice to hear how many frames you took in this situation, and about the technical details. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Comment I think you have captured the atmosphere of the hectic transit zone just perfectly. I especially like the reflections on the shiny floor that add a dream-like element to the blurred movement. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Comment There must be a most intriguing story behind the scene! The contrasty colors are delicious, and like Bob, I admire the sense of depth. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Comment This takes one right in the middle of the dealings in the exotic market scene with a lot of color, details and action. I especially like the dark wet glistening pavement that goes diagonally through the image and adds to the fine sense of depth. It also brings out the person with the basket very well. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Comment I would vote for the full view, too, with the fine rhythm created by the planes of the roofs and walls and windows. Darkening the shadows sounds like a good idea, too. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Mervyn! I think that even a small change helped. Nov 8th
26 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Bob! This would be an excellent improvement, but I think that there is so little dynamic range in the bad JPEG original that it is difficult to bring much tones in the dark areas while keeping the blacks black. However, I could make the thighs and the elbow a little lighter as Mervyn suggested, and I think that this did make a difference. Nov 8th

47 Nov 22 Reply You are so right! Nov 11th
47 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Ed! I am glad if you think that the crop saves it! I think that I keep collecting these lessons about how much trouble could be avoided if I were a little more careful when taking the photo⬠Nov 11th
47 Nov 22 Reply Hi Robert, great catch with the similarity of the shapes! I did not notice it but it is quite evident now that you pointed it out. Another fine element in the image!
And I like the aurvivir angle, too!

47 Nov 22 Comment Thank you, Robert! I know I am so lucky to have someone like her, who mostly truly enjoys of being in front of the camera, and is full of ideas and always ready to play. Nov 9th
47 Nov 22 Comment Hi Al, it must have been wonderful to photograph her passage. - I almost like the color version better, the hues of lead gray, blue and green in the water are so exquisite. I especially love the light on the sails in both versions. Nov 8th
47 Nov 22 Comment Hi Ed, what a dramatic and powerful image with the fantastic sky! I like the way the wreck fills the frame, and the camera angle. To me, it looks like a storm had just thrown her ashore and I wonder if removing the tourists from the scene might make one relive the drama of her history. Nov 8th
47 Nov 22 Comment I think that the image really works, it makes a strong statement in a gentle and subtle way. I think that you chose a perfect moment when the homeless man has covered his face with his arm, like he could not face the luxury store. - I like Jeff's darker version very much. Nov 8th
47 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Jeff! I'll deal with the nose! Nov 8th

54 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, great ideas! I can already see in my mind what it will look like! Nov 12th
54 Nov 22 Reply Thank you, Aavo! The background looked quite nice in color, but I just couldn't get the skin tones of the bunnies natural. I think that BW actually may also look less busy. Nov 11th
54 Nov 22 Reply Alan, what a lovely memory! - The costumes have proven to be worth every stitch: the kids did not take them off once during the Easter holidays, and the effect in the image was just what I was trying to achieve - I am so glad! Nov 8th
54 Nov 22 Comment Hi Brad, I think that your play with colors has produced a lovely vibrant blend of hues, and the black outlines tie them into intriguing forms. It is easy to imagine that this is what the bee sees through his compound insect eyes when he hovers over the flowers. - The green and gold in the head of the fly are amazing, and I think that he makes a perfect balance with the bee. Nov 8th
54 Nov 22 Comment Hi Alan, I love the endless series of exquisite reflections and the way you have handled the lighting and the perspective to produce this airy gallery. The artist and her drawing give it taste of life. Thank you for describing the complicated process so clearly! Nov 8th
54 Nov 22 Comment Hi Maria, I just love the playful storybook feeling, too. To me, it looks like the girl had a book open at her feet. She looks up, and then the story becomes alive in her imagination. Your grass-shaped brush works so well! - I wonder if it would be a good idea to remove or lighten some of the rust spots on the roof close to the giraffes head to make him to stand out from the background? Nov 7th
54 Nov 22 Comment Hi Aavo, it may be because of a novel I read recently, but I think that the woman is hiding a resistance fighter in her rooms in an occupied city, and is acting all nonchalant and innocent while she is obliterating the doorway so that the suspicious government official on the street would not get in to investigate. The way you made the moonlight show the details in the scene makes makes it look very real. - I wonder if the light flooding from the doorway could have pale yellow tint, in contrast to the white moonlight? Nov 7th
54 Nov 22 Comment Hi Peggy, what a lovely image! The swirl of light and shadow and vibrant colors give exactly the feeling of walking along a path through the sunlit autumn forest. I think that the texture layer adds beautifully to the dream-like quality. The antelope looks very natural camouflaging in the color palette. - I was wondering about a version where he would show himself a bit more clearly, and tried to touch him with the sponge tool in Affinity Photo that adds vibrance and saturation to the subtler tones. What do you think? Nov 7th
54 Nov 22 Comment Thank you, Peggy! I don't know what happened to the observer bunny in the process, but here she is in a sharpened form! Nov 7th
