Thanks, Billy! I am so glad that you noticed the nails - I think that it is the fad in her football team. I think that they give a nice edge to the ethereal expression, too. |

Thank you,Jeri! That is a great idea! - It feels so good when one frame out of a hundred or so carries what one wishes to say! |

Hi Lance, thank you! I am so glad that it works. I found your granddaughter in the March rounds. I just love the intense contact in her gaze, and the play of lights and shadows. I wish I would learn to use depth of field in such a wonderful way! |

Hi Joan, I love it, too. There is great drama in the sharp silhouette against the blazing sky, and the way you have placed the sun so that the last rays reach the bird is just perfect! |

Hi Christine! I think that you have captured the colorful scene and the clear Nordic light beautifully! I think that the diagonal line of the pier and the tilt of the perspective make an interesting and dynamic composition. I wonder if a slight cropping of the sky might enhance the effect? |

Hi Rick, you really are a wizard with Topaz studio! The colors and the slightly abstract forms define the brooding man beautifully, and, I think, give the image a fine dark mood. I have been trying to figure out what filters you used, probably several? |

Hi Jeri! It looks like Minnie were grinning happily to the viewer with a glint in her eye. I think that the panorama format is good: it gives her a sense of movement, and the areas of brown and grey of her plumage, and the curved outlines balance the composition. I love the way the ripples of the water look. I wonder if slight brigtening of the darkest area in her neck, or a little more contrast in that area would bring her beautiful head out even more clearly? |

Thanks, Ed! These were exactly my feelings when I was standing there half frozen and trying to pres the buttons with numb fingers. |

Hi Robert! This is another example of your talent to capture these special moments. I love the way you make us see the event through the eyes of the reporter whose line of sight directs to the Pope. The frame works nicely to separate the Pope from the crowd, but I think that lightening his clothing a bit and increasing the contrast locally might help, too? I also like the light tones in the upper part of the image that bring the feeling of the square bathing in sunlight. - I think that you could also make another image with a tighter crop, concentrating on the two main subjects? |

Thanks, Jeff! I think that you are probably right about them not smiling with their eyes open - I have a couple of frames of her mate with rather a nasty stare. I will experiment with the contrast! |

Hi Al, is this from Iceland? I think that you have captured in a very fine way the spirit of the austere simple church that stands alone between earth and sky. I think that the high contrast suits well in the image, and the sky is just impressive. I wonder if slight lightening of the cloud behind the cross might show it more clearly? A very powerful image! |

Hi Ed! I think that the image mediates the magnificence of the library in a wonderful way. You have used the symmetry, perspective and light to create a huge sense of depth in the composition, one feels like standing there among the crowd gaping at the roof above. The two persons in the front who kind of complement the busts on the pedestals, seem to open the scene for the viewer. I think that this is fine tribute to libraries and knowledge. |

Hi Brad, I looked back in the previous rounds for your flower images, a wonderful concept! I think that the latest version of this image is just perfect, with the colors, composition and a story of mythical dimensions. |

Hi Alan, the Photoshop Magic really works! I like the contrast between the blazing sky and the high-structured foreground, too. I admire the way all the components sit together like they had originally been parts of the same scene. |

Hi Maria, a wonderful image! I think that the changes you made in the latest version further emphasize the atmosphere. I love the contrast between the bright houses and the gloomy landscape that brings a Magritte painting to mind. |

Hi Aavo, I think that this is an exhilarating image! The modifications that have been suggested would certainly make it more realistic, but I think that it has a wonderful slightly naivistic-like touch just as it is - it would make a great illustration for Kipling's "Just so" stories. |

Hi Peggy, all the versions are beautiful, with a bit different atmosphere and story, but I, too, like the high-key version best. In the darker ones, it feels like the lady is fleeing something into a scary forest. In the last one, I think that an ethereal fairy returns into the friendly mists she has come from. You have created a wonderful sense of depth with the varying tones in the tree trunks. I think that this is a lovely image. |
