15 Jun 21 Comment Hi, Joan, thanks a lot, this sounds so good. I will try it out tomorrow! Jun 30th
15 Jun 21 Comment Thanks, Rick, that is my favourite thing there, too! Jun 27th
15 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Jeri! I am glad if it works o.k.! Jun 22nd
15 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Billy! I am glad that it works! Jun 19th
15 Jun 21 Reply Thank you, Bruce! I have tried the trick in several situations now, and I think that it can give an extra spice. Jun 16th
15 Jun 21 Comment Hi Bruce! A beautiful image! Is it the HDR effect that makes the grass look so natural that you can sense how it feels walking through it? There is a wonderful sense of depth with the trees almost in sharp silhouette in the foreground and the mountains in the horizon. I think that the tighter crop makes it more intense. I was wondering if a little more reddish hue in the clouds would make the contrast with the blue sky even more attractive. I tried the color picker tool in Capture One for the yellow and adjusted the hue and saturation just a tad in that direction. What do you think? Jun 13th
15 Jun 21 Comment Hi Linda! An interesting image that has a story to tell. You have captured the man and his sharp shadow against an interesting background with fine colors and structure. I think that it might be even better without the shadow of the traffic light? Jun 13th
15 Jun 21 Comment Billy, a great shot. Congratulations on your purchase! I think that you have done a great job with the editing, to show her against the background with so similar coloring. Jun 13th
15 Jun 21 Comment Hi Rick! I think that you have transformed the window to a wild fantasy portal. The vibrant contrasty colors against the dark background and the succession of the arches give it a great dramatic effect. I can see this as a heavy metal record cover. Jun 13th
15 Jun 21 Comment Hi Joan, I think that you have caught the essence of the racing horses, there is a wonderful feeling of motion. I wonder if cropping it a bit to a more panorama-like format would increase the sense of speed even more? I think that the lighter patch on the track (from the white socks of the horse?) and close to the right edge may draw the eye a bit. I tried to darken the lower one slightly and clone off the other. What do you think? Jun 13th
15 Jun 21 Comment Jeri, a perfect name for a beautiful image! I love the deep golden color and the way the stamens with the pollen particles are framed by the shadows. I think that the narrow depth of field works fine. The longest shadow that extends to the bottom and the small darker triangle at the bottom edge may draw the eye from the center a bit?
I wonder if cloning off the shadow and cropping off a little from the lower edge might be a good idea?

47 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Ed! I think the image gets better by every comment! I will try to remember to concentrate to include only the essential elements! Jun 23rd
47 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Adrian, I think you are right about the window! I will try cropping it out right away! Jun 23rd
47 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Adrian, I think you are right about the window! I will try cropping it out right away! Jun 23rd
47 Jun 21 Reply Here is the next attempt - I started from scratch and cleaned the background from every non-essential detail. Deepened the blacks and added local brightness and contrast. I think that the dancers are now easier to define. I think that the earlier vignette trial killed the moonlight effect, and left now the windows rather bright. Are they distractive? I think they kind of frame the dancers, and the brightest area anyway is in the arm and face of the lady. What do you think? Jun 19th
47 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Colin! I will go back to the originals and try to see if a different crop of the background might open any options! Jun 16th
47 Jun 21 Comment The cemetery must have been a very special place, surrounded by the forest and the uncut grass. I have another suggestion for the crop: how about making it portrait format and including the three stones on the right. I think that would give quite a nice composition, with Armstrong, the other dark stone (although quite close to the edge) and the beautiful white one forming a triangle. What do you think? Jun 16th
47 Jun 21 Comment I was totally fascinated by the creature. It looks like he has dropped from outer space to rest on the branches. I was wondering how he would come out from a darker background with some of the smaller white patches at the edges removed, a rectangular vignette and some tweaking of the curves. This of course loses the authenticity, but might give him an abstract-like character? Jun 16th
47 Jun 21 Comment It is wild and majestetic and wonderful. I was wondering how just slightly less contrast, like in the original, would work for the snow/clouds among the trees? Jun 15th
47 Jun 21 Comment A wonderful image - I think that the angle is perfect giving the vehicle the proud dignity it deserves. The post processing works perfectly. Jun 15th
47 Jun 21 Comment I think that it is perfect, too! The blurred background shows off the heron and the water droplets, and also his environment beautifully. Jun 15th
47 Jun 21 Comment You have created a wonderfully spooky atmosphere. I keep looking into the mist and shadows and wonder what is waiting at the end of the road. The winding road and the trees that seem to disappear in the mist make a fine sense of depth, like walking right into the image. Jun 15th
47 Jun 21 Reply Thank you Jen! I am so glad that you can see them! The composites are so much fun, I am looking forward to see your ideas! Jun 15th
47 Jun 21 Reply Thanks, Albert! Yes, I can see that now. I think that the left-side windows are the most distractive element? I cloned them white and added a vignette with some inner light to soften the rest of the clutter but still showing the dance hall context. Do you think that this helped at all? - I will start to look for a more worthy venue for the dancers. Jun 15th
