I just returned from the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine. It was amazing. A 70-200 lens will work there so a very heavy expensive lens is not needed. A 100-400 would also be very useful. Buy the photo pass to get in early and stay late. Hope for clouds and if there are no clouds go rest by 10am and try again later. |

This is a very interesting idea. For me I throw away reflections if they are that blurry. What story are you trying to tell? |

The photo is technically very well done. For me it does not offer much impact. Maybe bigger waves or more movement of the water would help. |

Yes it was hand held. I do not use a tripod for birds as I can get on the bird much quicker without a tripod. For large birds I use at least 1/1250th unless panning. For smaller birds I shoot faster. Fortunately, many cameras are now capable of high ISO and with DXO or NIK any noise can be adjusted. |

The photo is very soft. The focus appears to be on the head so maybe there ws just not enough depth. However, the wing is so soft i am not sure what happened. |
