I would agree to clone out the two lights next to the building. It would be less distracting. |

Hi, Frans:
Very nice captured image. I have been at the same spot before, but had a tough time finding the right angle to take advantage of the rows of these lamp posts. I was caught up using my wife as a model peeking out from one of the posts while using a short telephone lens to compact the light posts and keeping a shallow depth of field.
Never thought of using the wider point of view as you did. I really like your version of the place. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi, Todd:
The luminance of the cascades supported by the backlit pines really drew the viewer's attention. One suggestion would be to increase the shadow details on the canyon wall on the right of the image; it would make the image more balanced.
I like the duotone approach of the image as well. |

Since I have not been to the South Pole or Greenland where there are iceberg galore, this is the best place that I can reach to photograph 'icebergs'. Thanks for your comments. |

Thanks, Pierre. I wonder whether the color of the first light reflected through the iceberg might be too warm. |

Thanks for all your very kind comments. The location of the shot was just 50 yards away from the parking lot in the south end of the Mackinac Bridge. I was just lucky to be there at the right time. |

Hi, Kathryn:
Beautiful shot of a classic Arizona scene during the magic hours of the day. Beverly's sky replacement did add some interest in the otherwise boring sky. But I think the original shot could hold enough viewer's interest without the colorful sky. Well done! |

Hi, Pierre:
I like the way it was captured; I could not have done it any better. It makes me want to treasure every sunrise and count my blessings. Thanks for sharing. |

An image that defines "Contrast": the humongous container ship vs. a single hull sailboat, sunny day but with fog ( typical of the Bay Area weather), highly reflective sail vs the dark shadow of the tanker in the background, and dark blue of the water vs. light blue sky.
Well captured image that describes a typical day in the Bay with the city skyline shrouded in the fog. |
