It was a magical moment when the sun started to set behind the rock and I was able to gain JR's attention while he was trying to maximize the photographic opportunity as well.
It as a very memorable trip indeed. |

Hi, Todd:
I have always looked for dynamic images; from cold to warm, from dark to light, from desaturated area to saturated area. PS is a wonderful tool that allows me to achieve my goals. |

You are very kind in your remark, Lamar. I still think that I should tone down the saturation a bit. |

Hi, Frans:
Visiting India is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I have done a bit of PS to see if you like my vision of this scene. |

Agree with both Todd's and Lamar's suggestions and comments. The only thing that I could add would be to somehow move the sunset towards the center of the image. The leading line is very nice, but it leads to the edge of the image making the viewer wanting to see more of the sunset. |

Hi, Kathryn:
A very simple and yet complex image. There are three main components in this image: the approaching clouds, the pines and the fireweed. The randomness of the fireweed provides complexity and interest to the viewer. I would consider darken the foreground a bit more to give more depth. In fact I would tone down the entire image a bit. See my processed image. |

Hi Todd:
Just love looking at this image; very artistically done. I would have never guess how much work that you have put into this image. Getting ready in the rain, hiking down to this iconic location, setting a leveled tripod, programing your camera's settings are all indications of what a dedicated artist that you are. It is well composed, just love the foreground rock that anchored the whole image. |

Hi, Pierre:
Before the advent of digital photography, I used all sorts of filters, (IR, warm/ cool, enhencing, etc) in order to capture the right mood on my slide films. Not any more; PS can accomplish everything and more. I think there still is a place for IR converted sensor to get that unique texture and tonality that would be difficult to achieve using PS. You have certainly brought a different dimension to capture a beautiful and peaceful scene. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi, Lamar:
Texture, Texture! A very intriguing image; is it a barn, an outhouse, or a house? Was that a covered chimney on the roof line? Why are the vines growing/ wrapping surrounding the structure? These are the questions that begging answers from viewers of this image. Every subject in this image is leaning; nothing is straight except for the horizon. Well seen and captured. |
