Yes Kathleen. I think another shot from right in front of the counter would have provided a better focus on this woman. Unfortunately, this was an extremely popular food stand so I did not shoot from straight ahead (in retrospect, I'm sure I could have taken more time to do so). B |

Lightroom. Sometimes for B&W I take saturation down to -100; edit the photo, and then use the color grading to put a tone that I like in the photo (in film days, my favorite photo paper in the darkroom was something I remember as being ivory (maybe linen). I've never been able to match it as much as I try. B |

Great additional research! Thanks for adding more info to the photo. They were served in a cone and yes, I got the mayonnaise. Here is another from my visit to the stand (but IMO more like a portrait then a street photography image). This was a busy, hard-working crew of people. B |

Isaac - Certainly a vibrant and interesting scene. I hope you at least bought something! The woman, children and handcrafts are all sharp though on my screen, the colors seem a bit washed out (especially the greens). That may be how you saw the scene on a bright but cloudy day. B |

Bev - Thanks for sharing this image of a scene that I have never seen before. In most countries it is not legal to photograph soldiers - not sure if that is the case with these who may be ceremonial guards. Since you got the shot and appear to still be with us, I figure that your camera was not confiscated and that you were not jailed! Too bad that the rifles block most of the guard's faces. B |

Pinaki - Love everything about this image. The cow's burlap covering, its head cover, and that it has its own parking space (tethered to another vehicle). Great catch. The image is framed well with the cow between the cars and the yellow head cover immediately draws the viewers attention to the cow feeding in the street. B |

Ed - You managed the lighting perfectly - the single lightbulb (well exposed) helps tell the story of the night market. The objects on the table are of interest - unfortunately, there is no visual interaction between the vendor and customer. You might consider cropping a bit of the image on the right (at the end of the table to tighten up the view). B |
