Dan and Gloria- Re-looking at the image I agree with your comments about the crop. It's like a bad haircut, too much off the tops and side! Many thanks. B

Pretty easy to forget at -25C! It is always one of my issues when shooting - - - getting caught up in the moment and not slowing down to think further about composition, settings, etc. B |

Isaac - I've certainly read about breadfruit but really had not much of an idea about what it was or how it is used. Thank you for that background. This is a very colorful image highlighting the action of the woman peeling the grapefruit. I like the crop that Les suggested that puts greater focus on the woman. Even with the crop there is much to look at in the image which adds to its appeal. B |

The cyclist really helps your image. As you state, it gives scale to the image and focuses the viewer in an interesting place in the frame. This is a high contrast image that may also work well in b&W with a slightly different crop. B |

How sweet and refreshing. You were able to capture an intimate moment (guessing between a father and his son) in a public place. The photo is sharp though the bright light is harsh. Not sure if a B&W version reduces the harshness but I gave it a go. B |

Action, concentration and a bit of hope (hope it doesn't fall). Great capture of the expression of the woman's face. Her right hand is poised to move but without blocking her face. The image could use a little more room at the top if it was in the original image. B |

Gloria - You did right to follow her. Her contrasting colors to the rest of image, the framing and the shadows all make this an interesting photo. Her walk is leading us through the archway on the way to the building at the top of the walkway. B |

Dan - Nice to meet another hockey person. I never encouraged by kids to play but I played youth hockey, a year of college hockey (many, many bruises), refereed for 15 years (mites to NCAA), and played adult, non-checking hockey. Covid chased me from the rinks but I miss skating. B |

Bill - Welcome! I think you did a nice job capturing the building and the lighting. You probably needed to use a slightly slower shutter speed which would give more blur and motion to the skaters. Additionally, stopping down further would add a star burst effect to the brighter lights which might have also been interesting. B |
