As soon as I viewed this image it evoked a memory of a song by Simon and Garfinkle called "Old Friends" (opening lines: "Old Friends, Old Friends. Sat on their park bench like bookends"). You have created a simple image of the men framed by geometric shapes throughout the scene. The men are slightly off center which adds interest in viewing. The sign adds a wonderful story to support the bench sitters. I like the wide perspective as well. |

The 'STREET' in street photography! Great to look down on occasion for a different perspective. I like how you centered the image in a square frame and the detail and coloration of the cover. I am often amazed when looking at these covers that many are actually made in India (not sure if they still make them for the U.S.). B |

Gloria - You got me with the title! 'Giggles' rather than 'Goggles'. Very clever. A sharp, colorful capture showing the fun the little girl is having both in the water and with the funny glasses. I debated about the woman in the rear but ultimately decided that she adds to the image as an interested observer (you in the front, the woman in the back). B |

Gloria - I like your flipped perspective. I think the issue for me in taking the photo even having asked permission is one of 'nerves'. I did not want to be too forward so only took a couple of photos without thinking through all of the aspects of what makes a better photo. Thanks all. B [original image attached) |

Regardless of 'street' or 'no street'... it captures a slice of life which is timely and is clearly very American. I think it is an appropriate image for the group. The flag is so sharp in the image that it almost pops off the page! B |

Action, color and shapes. I love the joy of the little boy as he runs toward the giant bubble and how you captured the colors in the bubble along with the bubble's shadow. Since it is such a bright day I wonder if a slight vignette would focus the image more to the man and boy and bring down the brightness of the trees? Good tip on shooting in burst --- I need to do that more often. B |
