I encourage all criticism and feedback of what I can do. It's grainy and out of focus and doesn't have a lot of pixels, but I don't know how to fix that. I tried sharpening in Lightroom and in Topaz AI Sharpen, to no avail. Is there anything I can do now? I doubt that I'll ever be back there, so I'd really like to find something to do in the wealth of photos I already have, but I'm clueless.

Thorro. The image was captured at an ideal level, just above the upper body of water. And there's a wonderful contrast between the fluid water and the solid rocks. My question is whether you think there might be too much black, depth of shadow. Some shadow adds mystery about what's been obscured. Do you think this picture might have shadow in too many places? |

Jeffrey. I love the faces - the mother (I assume) looking on apprehensively for possible danger, and the baby hanging on an looking around curiously, trying to learn about the world. A couple of questions are whether it'd be possible to sharpen the baby's face, and whether the blue halos around the tree and both lemurs is an artifact (chromatic aberration?) that could be removed. |

Actually, Andy, for me the juvenile is the center of attention even though the adult is so beautifully colored. At the risk of anthropomorphizing, I feel the baby is begging with hunched posture and twisted head. By cropping the left side of the picture you lose the sense of open space, which is important. But it accentuates the baby and its posture. |

Steve, I can't imagine anybody looking at this picture and not smiling. Clearly you didn't have a lot of control on the composition at capture. But might I suggest a slightly tighter crop, especially on the right. You can't do much about the leaves obscuring lower parts of the bird, but I found the leaves on the right somewhat distracting. |

I agree with Jeffrey, Sophia. And I really like that the egret's body is in shadow which makes the wing jump out even more. Brilliant. The only question I have is whether the slim aura on the egret's body just on top of and just below the its beak is an artifact of processing. |

I totally agree, Jeffrey. But, not as an excuse, I didn't have much control on the composition as I was sitting in a Zodiac. |
