43 Jul 25 Reply Thanks Mark. I usually don't use artificial blur or other AI techniques on my nature images because if I would enter one into a club competition doing that is not allowed. I know I could never remember if I did or not when I enter so I stay away from it all together.
I should have used a wider aperture to do that in camera, but I was limited to f/8 because of the tele-converter.

43 Jul 25 Reply Thanks Bunny. He does look blue on top, but in reality is dark black. Still good for the fourth. Jul 26th
43 Jul 25 Comment You have created something very nice here Harley. Moving the mother and daughter closer together has created a much more intimate image. That and the conversion to mono brings the viewer right into the shot. I want to know what they are looking at. In this view the little girl is giving mom a flower while in the original she is just holding a flower.
Good job on seeing how this could be created and then making it happen.

43 Jul 25 Comment You sure pulled the best out of this one Mark. I really like the colors on the boat and the "well used" and abandoned look it has. I am sure this craft has stories to tell of better times past. For me, the front is the most interesting area in the photo with the bright colors and peeling and bubbling paint. Might I suggest a square crop (or just a bit more) starting just a bit under the bow and ending between the last two cross braces. I think this would help keep the eye focused on the front colors. Nicely found and shot. Jul 26th
43 Jul 25 Comment Hi Leo, I like the street scene you are showing us. It shows the comings and goings of the city at night. I can see that your focus was on the bus and I like that the tower on the building right behind the bus is pointing down towards it. Your white balance is giving the shot a warm look and that is good for the evening with the city lights. I do think though, that the image might be a bit "hot" or overexposed in the highlights just a bit. I like the hustle and bustle, but feel that if you could remove the power lines and pole on the left it might let the viewers eye into the shot more and be a less distracting. Jul 26th
43 Jul 25 Comment Nice composition on this one Lane. I like how the yellow poppy is set off and framed with the purple salvia. Using the white background (I use white and black in the same way myself) eliminated any distractions which, I am sure, were present in the garden making the poppy the star. I feel the beauty of this image is in its subtly. When I first looked at your image I thought this could be a note card or a wall hanger. Very nice. Jul 23rd
43 Jul 25 Comment Beautiful shot Bunny. The colors are so soft and delicate just like the Geranium. Your crop is, in my opinion, just right. You are showing off the most beautiful part of the flower and your image is tack sharp to boot. Of course the water drops add to the image in a big way providing interest and feeling. Glad you found at least one winner from your trip and thanks for sharing it with us. Jul 23rd
43 Jul 25 Comment Wonderful shot Andrew, you have lots of interest in the foreground with the mountain peaks. They seem to be leading me to the right as is the milky and I feel the tire tracks on the right only add to the image, it seems to be rotating visually. You have nailed the composition on this one my friend. Of course the sky is just beautiful and while those little streaks are "undetermined" they do add interest, in my opinion. Meteor, space junk or a shooting star they are still cool to see.
I am hoping to get to a dark sky area north of me next month and am looking forward to really seeing the sky again as I did when I was a kid.
Love this shot, good work.
