Thanks Bunny. The duck does look startled, like it didn't know he would be landing so soon. |

What a transformation that berry went through. The photo stacking really brings out the detail and texture. Nicely put together Harley. Adding the spoon, flowers and tablecloth. I have tried manually focus stacking with a rail in the past and discovered that my patience wear out quickly.
Doing it in camera is the way to go. Thanks for showing us this. |

Well Mark, I don't know who judged this image, but I feel your exposure is spot on. I can see nice detail on the fact, head, wings and chest. Nothing looks overexposed or blown out. You have a nice muted background and the composition is just fine. I really like how they eyes (tack sharp, by the way) seem to follow me as I move. I do wish you had a bit more depth of field to get the legs sharper, but that is a minor issue. Was there something going on with its right claw?
I think you should re-submit, if possible, to get other PSA judges opinions. |

Thanks for your commentary on this Lane. I do like the texture and detail of the flower heads. The "ice dancers" add the interest and create a focal point. I think Bunny's Wabi-Sabi take is the way I feel on this too. Interesting and it stands on its own with the beauty one finds within.
As for the background, black is OK I just thought that it was was just a bit much last month that is all. I like this one. The texture enhances the ice on the flower. Looking forward to Spring flowers myself. It has been too cold too long. |

Bold color, leading lines, tension, shadow telling a story and a photo within a photo. You have it all going on here Bunny. This is a fun shot that about every photographer would love. Well seen and captured. You were smart to ask you friend to pose for your shot. You created a very striking image. Nicely done. |

You have captured the vibe of the city well in this image Leo. I like the narrow field of view looking down the street and the golden hour color and bit of haze in the air add to the beauty of your scene. I, of course, like the sun setting between the buildings at the end of the roadway. The orange glow on the trolly tracks provides a nice leading line into the city as it transitions from daytime to night with the store lights coming on bringing everything to life.
Well seen and captured. |

You got your moneys worth from that workshop Andrew. Great capture. You snapped the shutter at the perfect time to tell this story. I am thinking "the agony of defeat", if you remember that quote from a past Olympics. Not only did you catch the jumper in a great position you also have good light on his face letting us see what he is feeling. Your f2.8 did its job well, blurring the background so we focus only on the subject. You might try to remove that bit of red (a flag?) on the right to clean it up a bit. This image looks like a seasoned pro took it. Bravo! |

Thanks for your comment Mark. I was lucky to get the leading line wake. The timing is important and, for me, required lots of trial and error. |
