43 Mar 25 Reply I do shoot raw Bunny. This was an early morning shot and, while processing, I was having issues with color balance. I tried to correct using other methods and that may be the reason for the color noise you see (I really can't see it though). I did do just a bit of sharpening when I exported the image. I printed this up (13x19) and had to do it 3 times to get the color correct. I still don't know if it is white balance or something else.
Thanks for your input.
If you could respond when you see this note I would appreciate it. As I mentioned earlier there has been a problem with notifications on our website and Tom Pickering has asked all the admins to check their group out. So far I have not gotten any, but it might be fixed now. We will see.

43 Mar 25 Reply Yes, a tripod would have been very helpful. I was on a narrow road with water on each side shooting from the car for this shot. Could not get out since there were cars behind me. At 1/400 I was a bit below the minimum needed for the shot, but I thought the sharpness was, at least, acceptable. Thanks for your comment Lane. Mar 26th
43 Mar 25 Reply That happens Bunny. Monitor brightness can even have an effect on your final output. Mar 26th
43 Mar 25 Comment Thanks Harley. Fortunately this was on a wildlife DRIVE, so no hiking involved. My goal for this year is to capture more environmental shots of the birds I find rather than just portraits. This is my start in that quest. Mar 22nd

43 Mar 25 Comment That must be a fun photoshoot and how fortunate for your club to get the opportunity (and tickets!). Theater lighting is always hard to deal with and it looks like you have handled it well in your shot here. Although, for my taste, I might add just a touch more blue to the white balance. It appears that you are able to get pretty close to the performers and you have captured them well while keeping the background non distracting. Nice work Harley. Mar 22nd
43 Mar 25 Comment Interesting winter shot Lane. I think the image blends in too much with the background of the page here. A thin white border might give a sense of place and let my eye know where to look. This works on black, but did you try other colors as a background? While the black does give maximum contrast, you might get a similar effect with a subtle color too, while complimenting the stems and branches. Mar 22nd
43 Mar 25 Comment A nice city shot Bunny. The moving cars, as streaks of white and red frame your city buildings well. You have captured great color in the sky going from deep blue/purple at the top to "sunset red" at the bottom. It is a beautiful gradient background to your shot. You did capture some nice lighting in a few of the buildings showing us end of day in the city. I think, though, that you might want to open up the shadows on the building just a touch. That would let us see more detail in the buildings themselves and also might allow some of the interior lights to glow brighter. Nice first try on this technique.

43 Mar 25 Comment Nice capture Andrew. I like how you have caught them with their bow's up--it gives me a sense of place for each musician. Your sepia treatment works well especially given the tight quarters and bare wooden walls. This gives a "Hoedown" feel to me. I think the fact that your focus point is the center woman and the end folks are somewhat soft is plus to your shot. It draws my eye to the center, yet I bounce back and forth to each end. Well seen and I'm sure the music was top notch. Mar 22nd
