Thanks for your suggestion Lane. A bit more contrast would work here. I originally processed as a print which did have more tone. Looking at Mark's tree it seems we all have favorite wintertime looks that are similar. |

I really like the treatment here Andrew. The background is nice and compliments the flower quite well. You have done a nice job converting the sunflower into an "artsy" monochromatic image and it looks just fine, in my opinion. I really like the gritty look on the petals, which I assume is pollen. That and the darker color give this an interesting feel. It is always good to experiment and I think you are on to something with this image. It is unfortunate that the closer pedals are the ones OOF, that may be off putting to some observers. On the plus side it helps to leads the eye into your image which is exactly what we want. |

Nice capture Harley. I can never find the cats awake when I visit the zoo. You have a nice pose here and your processing is working to make the original into a great portrait. I do like the crop Bunny suggested as it eliminates the OOF greenery which, I feel, is a bit of a distraction. This is a very nice shot and I'm not Lion:) |

Great capture Mark, your image makes me smile. I really like how you caught the white crowned sparrow. I get them in the winter sometimes, but they never seem to leave the ground so I never get a good shot. You caught this little guy in the right pose showing off his "crown". You have a nice perch also. Too bad the "photo bomb bird" tried to get into your shot. Nice fun shot--good work. |

A cold and lonely road for sure. You have captured the essence of winter here. Nice leading line into the shot bringing us to the bare trees on the left with a background of a interesting winter sky. I like that you have kept detail in the trees in the back showing texture even though they are barren now. I like the red barn as I feel it is an important part of your image and feel it is just fine as is. Nice winter image Lane.

Well Bunny, at first glance it is hard to tell this is a photograph. You have made you image look like an impressionistic painting--it is really beautiful. I just love the softness of the background and the sun warming the clouds brings the eye all the way through your image. The fence is a nice anchor point and the bushy tree a perfect focal point. You have a good, artistic, eye. I love this one. |

Beautiful image Leo. You have nailed the landscape / city shot with three layers. First you have the fire boat shooting water as the main subject with a beautiful background of modern architecture and to top it all off we see the mountains in the background. You shot has a lot of depth and we even see helicopters for added interest. I think this is just a wonderful image. Well done. |

Thanks for your comments Bunny. I did like he filigree look of the branches too. Unfortunately I don't think I will be posting a shot of the train. I understand that it is out of service for the season because the boiler needs to be replaced. Apparently that is a major overhaul. Hope they can do it--the engine is pretty old. Bummer! |
