Thanks Harley. I do think desaturate and darken the background will call more attention to the Heron. That is the beauty of this group, the good advice from other photographers. |

The day is done and the boats are safely home is what your image it telling me. I like the busyness of the masts and rigging with the setting sun behind. The colors in the sky and reflected in the water give a peaceful calming effect to your image and the tones are beautiful. I might suggest a crop to the right to about the mast of the small boat in the distance, then clone out the rest of that boat. That bit on the right is not adding much to the beauty of the image. Of course, that will change the aspect of the image and may or may not work.
Love the shot. |

Thanks Lane, that is a good suggestion. I played with the background a bit, but desaturation is most likely the way to go. |

Thanks Bunny. No, he is not my pet Heron--I think he is just a ham for the camera. |

Well, first of all Harley, you have captured a nice photo of the Flickr with great detail and a sparkle in its eye. Now you have taken your Photoshop skills and AI help to a new level. Your updated look is the best, of course, and it looks like you took it that way. AI really can do wonders can't it? Nice work on both the photography and processing. |

Beautiful soft image Mark. I really like how the road leads my eye into the shot aided by the rocks on the left and fence on the right. This would be a good shot with just the building on the left, but the addition of the people makes it great. The fog sets the overall tone and fits perfectly with the scene. Nicely done. |

Well, Bunny what can I say except WELL DONE. I love the way my eye jumps into the boat and sales down the river and vanishes. Love your composition and the reflections of the clouds in the water. Your subject is front and center and, while being muted in color, grabs your attention by virtue of the red items in the back. If this isn't a class in leading lines I don't know what is. Great image. |

I like the lines in your photo Leo. You have formed a triangle with the road, trees and person on the right looking into the distance. I like the scene and the crop is OK with me. You have a nice story of folks enjoying themselves by the water on a summer evening. It looks to me that you may have some nice colors forming in the clouds on the left and I wonder if you stayed there a bit longer if the sky would light up in beautiful color. I know it is always hit or miss waiting for that to happen, but you have captured a nice photo none the less. |

Very nice Andrew. The simplicity of this image speaks volumes. I like the texture in the wood, as well as, the darkened, oxidized, bars which tell me that this is a very old "cell". Your accidental model who's hand is on the bar is just great. It has age and fits into the scene perfectly. The sepia treatment gives this a look of despair and loss of hope for the captive. This tells a story without words. |
