Thanks Harley, I suppose the Nikon is not really a "point and shoot". It is a Coolpix and has adjustments for all the normal parameters. I just call it a P&S because it fits into the palm of my hand. |

Very interesting Harley. With your change of background I feel you have given us somewhat of an optical illusion. Seemingly changing the perspective of your image. I would have titled this "Birds Eye View". To my eye I feel that I am flying right next to your gull and viewing the land below. which, by the way if full of interest and keeps my attention. I keep wanting to see more, or farther, in this image and that is a good thing. |

Harley, the image changed from when I uploaded and commented on it. Very strange behavior for this to happen. Oh Well, the correct image is now shown and my comment remains the same. Thanks for pointing this out to me. |

The contrast between the blue and yellow is quite nice here Mark. The poles and lines do form a leading line into the image, but then the eye is drawn to the brightness of the sunset. At first I was unsure about that, but when I viewed the image from a greater distance (got up for a coffee) it appealed to me more. So it is working for me here since my eye is moving about in the image. I do wish I could see a bit more detail in the foreground plants though. |

Thanks for the story on this one Bunny. I think you enjoyed the experience more than most and also got a cool photos. I am assuming that this is totality but wonder about the light we are seeing. Most of the other shots I viewed showed very narrow band of light. Do you know what the difference is between the two. Your shot reminds me of an eye with the pupil and iris.
Nice capture. |

Nice image Andrew. I like the sepia treatment which really fits the old Post Office. You have done well, in harsh light, to show us texture and detail in the wood and roof of the building. The experts tell us not to shoot at high noon, but if you are there and there is a great subject--why not! I think you have made the best of the highlights and given us a very nice photo. Good job waiting for the flag to cooperate--patience pays off. |
