Thanks Harley. You have the correct bird. They do duck (ha ha) under the water and pop up somewhere far from where they went in. I found a few just floating around preening their feathers so it was a bit easier catching a good shot. |

Harley, I feel your final image is the best. There is lots of compression and artifacts from sharpening in your main image. Looking at the original you are correct, you needed more mm's to get close. But what you have come up after some of the suggestions is, in my opinion, the best look. We can see what is going on, the danger of two planes close together, and the great trails. The eye focuses on the entire scene instead of the planes and that, I assume, is your intent. By the way, great job getting good focus AND prop blur.
Cool image. |

Interesting pose of the leaves and contrast of color here. One leaf has succumbed and the other is on its way to the end of the season. I especially like the veins and texture in the leaves. Lane said it well, blur the background or even create a vignette around the leaves which would get rid of a bit edge brightness and give you more focus on the subject. Well seen Mark. |

You are showing us the power of 3. Very nice Hi-Key image Lane.
I like the soft focus on your flowers, I don't know if you did that purposely or not, but I feel it works very well here. You have done well to separate the pedals from the background and retain texture in them. I like this very much. |

This is a very nice abstract Bunny. I see the gator very clearly. I like how you have isolated the image and given us a close up look. What it was originally is not important (except for the story) and other elements are not needed in the photo. I think your composition is spot on and as for the frame, I always suggest a frame when the edges of the image are black for the reasons you stated. Welcome to DD #43. Glad you are here. |

This is a wonderful photo of fireworks Leo. You have captured the peak of the action, at the perfect moment and most importantly your exposure it excellent. I love this shot. As someone who has taken many fireworks photos I know how difficult it is to get something like this. Great work. |

Great story telling shot Andrew. Very powerful and you are showing us nature that is very angry. I really like how the tower and giant wave both point up toward the helicopter. My only suggestion would be to brighten it up a just a bit.
Excellent timing of your shot by the way! |

Thanks Mark. As I mentioned to Lane, since the bird was stationary and doing something I opted for a centered shot. Although more of the water circles might be interesting too. |

Thanks for your comment Lane. I made the photo more of a bullseye because the bird was not moving, but rather preening, so I opted for more of a portrait. |
