Thanks for your comments Mark. The kestrel was a bit miserable, but the photographer who was shooting the rain for about 2 hours was even more so! |

You are showing us some nice detail of the flower here Harley. The white against the green is pleasing and you have nice sharp
flowers and out of focus stems as a backdrop. I also feel your crop make the best of the original image. You might consider a darker vignette around you image to give the center even more attention. |

Well they are upset about something. Nice capture, I like how you are showing us the head and necks of the Flamingos in their "conversation" with each other. As Linda mentioned the lighting is a bit harsh, but you take what you get at the zoo. I do like her rendition in mono though. I think you have done well to capture good detail in the large range from light to dark in you image. |

I really like all of the detail in your image Lane. The stones in the bridge are so sharp I feel I could reach out an grab them. Your choice of IR works very well here giving all of the emphasis on the bridge and reflection in the still waters below. I especially like the dark tree shadows on either side of your image which frame your subject. The IR effect on the grass to the right an trees in the back add to the image by letting them fade out of view. The moody sky only adds to the feel of the image. My only suggestion would be to try and open the shadow of the bridge on the water if possible.
Nicely seen and composed. |

One of my favorite birds and you have made him look like a star. I really like the angle you chose here Linda showing us its namesake spoonbill--that is what it is all about after all. The pose not only shows his bill but also the vibrant rosy color of the body. Your "darkroom" work, as always, is excellent bringing out the best of your subject. Nice shot. |

Very nice work Leo. I really like the way the highway leads the eye right to the beautiful purple bridge with the wonderful reflections in the water. Your slow shutter speed has put a nice soft stream of light on the roadway and eliminated the cars. I think the overall golden tone is perfect for the scene and I especially like how the bridge is the focal point, not only because of the color, but you have kept it the sharpest part of the photo letting the eye wander around yet return to the bridge. Good job. |
