Thanks for your input Lane. While I don't have Topaz, I can convert to a pencil sketch look in Photoshop and I will give it a try. As you point out this image is perfect for that look. |

You have nicely captured a peak moment Leo. The man's face and body language makes me smile--looks like he is having a good time. I like how you have isolated him from the background and his instrument next to him tells the story well. You might try to tone down the highlights a bit on his right hand and arm. |

Nice image of boats in the harbor Leo. You have exposed it well and the variety and colors of the boats adds interest. I really like how you have used the stairwell opening as a frame for your shot and I think that alone makes this shot for me. It is like a glimpse into the outside world from within. I would suggest a slight crop at the bottom removing
the banister in the center from the image. |

Thanks Mark. This is just two of the 8 nests that are in the trees. It is a real apartment complex. Lots of baby herons this year. It is hard to get a good shot, but I try every year. |

Thanks for your comments Linda. I agree that the branches are a distraction. I have tried to photograph this rookery for a few years now and this is about the best I can get. To shoot it there is about a 10 yard opening in the woods almost 100 yards away so the shooting position is very limited. I have tried to clone out branches, with not much luck. This one was about the best of the series. |

Beautiful image Mark. The Nautilus is a great shell and you have captured all its subtilties of light, shadow and texture. The color tone you have chosen is just right too. Hang this one on the wall. Nice work. |

I like your monochrome treatment here Lane. An old time look for an old time burger joint. The sky is very interesting and I like how you have given it more prominence in the image. I think you might consider a tighter crop to give the car hop and the sign more emphasis. I have added an image to illustrate. What do you think? |

I really like how you have captured the contrast between light and shadow with the cowboy, well lighted, emerging from the dark and fogy background. A cold and desolate area and the lone rider does tell a good story and your subtle colors add to the total look of this image. I would like to see a bid more foreground for the rider to "ride into" as he approaches me, but a lovely shot all in all as is. |
