Yes, the tail on the original might be a tad soft--hard to tell. I think that your treatment of the background carried over too much onto the bull and is a bit too noticeable. Sometimes that is the price we pay for adjustments--one spot gets better and another not so much. That's why professional re-touchers get the big bucks. |

Great action shot at the rodeo. You have, in my opinion, captured the peak of the action here. We see the struggle between the cowboy and the bull--both are using their legs to get the upper hand. I think that is cool. Your image is tack sharp and well composed; it tells a great story. I understand why you blurred the background to focus all attention on the subjects and that worked well. I do see some carryover blur on the bulls legs and tail which I feel is a bit distracting. Nice capture though. |

Very nice still life Mark. You certainly have a lot of color in this image and I think it is all working well. Your image is tack sharp and well exposed and I think you lighting highlights the pots well. I do feel you have a lot going on in the image and while that isn't a problem I think I would like to see what just three of the pots together would look like. I feel this might be a stronger image giving the viewer something to really grab on to. Might be worth a try in your spare time. I do like this one too, nice work. |

Thanks for the info. on Mooresville, it sounds like a cool place to visit and photograph. I think your choice of monochrome for this image is spot on. The old wall painting and brick building cry out for that "old time" photo treatment. Your planted bush in the front doesn't bother me and I feel it gives me a sense of space. I would like to see this photo with more of the storefronts in view (sort of a 15 degree rotation left) as I am curious as to what is down there. But I suppose that is the mission of a good image--pique the viewers interest. Good work. |

Love it Linda. You have processed this well and it has a wonderful feel to it. The barn is the star of the shot under those foreboding clouds. I like the way it almost glows. Your foreground is also gloomy (yet full of detail), in my opinion, carrying along the theme from those clouds and it has some great elements--I really like that little snow fence in the front. I almost feel the crop is a bit tight though, perhaps a bit more room on the right? Great image--print and hang. |

Andrew, I feel this is a great example of street photography telling a story to the viewer. Your image has so many things going on. You have well framed the gentleman reading the book with the decorations and tree on the window. And those decorations are very interesting in themselves and tell me that it is springtime at Dick Blick's Art Store. You have also done well not to have too many reflections on the glass window which, as we all know, takes some doing. Nice shot. |

Thanks Linda. You are correct about getting the shot. Kids and pets get fidgety after about 3 seconds. I like what you did to the image, but unfortunately I accidently deleted it (instead of hitting reply--had a long drive today and am a bit tired). Sorry for the trouble, but could you repost your image. Thanks. |
