43 Jun 22 Comment Well I think you have captured a great image with your drone Harley. Your have processed it well. Using HDR really brings out the color and detail here. I find it cool to get a birds eye view of the land and sea, it seems to expand the image quite a bit. I do feel that the tower placement is just right. It serves as a frame to your image and if we look at the original there is nothing of interest to the right if you were to use the rule of thirds placement. Nicely done. Jun 12th
43 Jun 22 Reply Maybe a day or two more and that eagle would haver arrived. Jun 12th
43 Jun 22 Comment Well seen Leo. There is a lot of theme and repetition here which is picked up in the reflections giving this image a lot of motion. You have done well to capture the boy on the playground with the red bag. That is where my eye goes and that is your subject and all parts of the image lead back to him. I feel this is very dynamic. Nice work. Jun 12th
43 Jun 22 Comment Very nice photojournalism capture Andrew. You are telling a story and I, as the viewer, understand what you are presenting. Your subjects are in nice sharp focus and I feel you have the best composition for this image. Like the other comments, it would be nice if the blade of the helicopter wasn't the background for your subjects. With this type of image it is important to "get the shot" and that is just what you have done. Jun 12th
43 Jun 22 Reply Thanks Linda, this is the first one I ever saw. I watched him fish for about 15 minutes. What a show--dancing, chasing the fish and popping those wings up to create shade. For a moment I thought I was watching a Nat Geo movie:) Jun 7th
43 Jun 22 Reply Thanks Mark. I was not aware of the element Gravity, but I get it now that you have explained it. Just goes to show that sometimes we like something and can't really explain exactly why. That is why this group is so great, lots of expertise about many aspects of art and photography. Jun 7th
43 Jun 22 Comment Very nice composition and I agree that your exposure is spot on for this image. We don't see too many monochrome images in our group and it is refreshing to see this one Mark. I always felt that mono was much more difficult to produce great images due to the lack of color distractions. You have given us a classic landscape of one of my favorite subjects--the lighthouse. Nice balance with the tree on the left and the rocks at the bottom give us nice foreground interest and detail. You even have a leading line with the path up to the house. The image is stark and I feel that is its appeal. I can almost hear Simon and Garfunkel singing "A hazy shade of winter".
By the way, how fortunate to get the gull on the chimney.

43 Jun 22 Comment Well seen Linda. I think your image looks like a still life one of the Masters could have painted. I really like how you have used light and dark to bring out your subject and focus the viewers attention on the fruit. Also, I feel that the presence of the water droplets adds interest and give the image a fresh look. The many shades of green, almost exclusively, really add to the image. Jun 4th
