A beautiful scene it is Lane. I really like that rock in the center with all that growth on it. You have smoothed out the water nicely with a slower shutter speed giving the falls a soft milky look which is very appealing. I think you have a large dynamic range here as we can see into the darkness on the left while the bright foliage is properly exposed. I think I would like to see more of the water and rocks on the left and maybe a bit less of the Maple on the right. But that might necessitate standing in the middle of the stream--something I try to avoid most of the time myself. Nice work. |

Thanks Linda, looks good. Good job on removing the branch by the birds feet. |

Thanks Mark, I see that Linda did clone out the branch and it does look better. This was a Nature shot I entered into a competition for my Camera Club. In the Nature Division it is not permitted to do much manipulation of the original image, such as cloning, and that is why I just left it alone. |

I think I might term this as a classical nude image showing human form in an everyday setting. I feel the impressionistic look adds a nice softness and interest to your image in the area reflected in the mirror. It appears that you have introduced motion blur in the foreground part of the image and it looks good on your model (wife), but I am a bit distracted by the streaks on the table in front. I think if you could soften that up a bit and smooth out the lines it would add to the overall look. |

Very nice landscape Linda. I like the many leading lines of the water, trees and mountains leading my eye into the image. I think your exposure is right on and the dark clouds are an interesting contrast to the brightness of the image. I do prefer the mountains over the clouds so I might suggest to crop a small bit (half way between the top of the tree and the top border) off of the top of your image. You still will have a nice bank of darker clouds, but I feel the mountains will become more prominent giving you shot even more impact. What do you think? |
