He was surveying a marshy area for lunch from that high perch. It was a tight crop for the original and not much room to adjust in post. I know what you are saying though. |

Thanks Mark. I was thinking of doing that, but felt it would eliminate all context and just have the bird floating in mid-air. I may give it a try just to see. |

Thanks for your comment Linda. The mono conversion works well and I like it as much as the color version. |

Well Harley you have taken lemons and made lemonade. Great creative image. I can see that you did much more than just adjust color to get your final look. This is something we don't see too often in DD, but I am glad you submitted it for us to enjoy. Good, creative work! |

Well Mark you have a wonderful image here. I think your composition is spot on making use of those power points on the rule of thirds. The look of BOTH of the lions staring right at us is just what we want to see in an image like this one. The soft tones and wonderful light just add to the overall strength of your image. Great capture. |

Great title Lane. You have the three elements needed in a landscape: Fore, Mid and Distant interest. I really like the smoothness of the clouds and feel I could pick them up to peek underneath. The striking color of the foreground trees is an attention grabber and then we move into the more subtle and gentle mid and distant look to offset. I like it. I do think I like what Linda has done too. I think she is showing us all of the strength in your wonderful image. |

Nice capture Linda. I like how you have brought out the color in your flower. It looks to me like it has an inner glow making it all the more appealing. I also feel that the small "baby" makes the image as our view moves up the stem from the bud to the open bloom. Your border is very nice, I like the 3D look. Can you share how you made it? |

Great capture of the butterfly Leo. The pose is super and you are even showing us the tiny hairs on its legs. The bokeh is beautiful with a soft creamy background. Very nice indeed. I do like how Linda has cropped the image which eliminated the out of focus foreground elements on the near leaves. Nice work.

I really like your sunset photo and like Linda feel like I am looking at two different photos here. One of the sunset and one of the highway--parking area. I think it works here because they are so different to the observer. Your colors are very nice and the use of the longer exposure gives us some nice light trails on the highway along with the silky water. I wonder what it would look like if you lightened the sandy area up a bit. It appears dark to me and seems to create a band across your image giving a harsh transition between the two views. Not too much so to lose the silhouette of the palms though. |
