43 Oct 21 Comment Nice capture Harley. I like your crop giving us a pleasing threesome of these little flowers. The darkening makes them pop, in my opinion, and separates them from the background well. I think the detail is very good and you have done a good job bringing it out. I suggest a thin white border of images that are dark at the edges this will make them easier to view in DD since it uses a black background. Oct 13th
43 Oct 21 Comment I really like how you are leading me into the shot with the road. I feel like I am right there and I want to see those sunflowers! You have captured a moody sky which adds to the overall tone of the image in a good way. I also feel you have framed the shot well with the tree on the left and the branches and leaves on the top and right. Since you have very dark areas at the edges of your image and DD shows them on a black background may I suggest that you put a thin white stroke around images such as this just to separate from the DD background. This will help the viewer find the boundaries in the image. Oct 13th
43 Oct 21 Comment Very nice capture Leo. You have used your depth of field well in this shot. I really like how you have captured the butterfly in flight and the detail in it is super sharp. I also like the softness of the foreground flowers giving the butterfly a sense of place. You have blurred the background well and it is nice and soft. I find the black band across the background a bit dark and would suggest trying to lighten it a bit. Nice Shot! Oct 13th
43 Oct 21 Reply Thanks for your comment Linda. I think bees are fascinating--always working away gathering pollen. I too thought the pattern on this one's wings was quite interesting. It took a while to get it to stay still enough for a shot. Oct 8th
43 Oct 21 Comment I really like your image Linda and, as always, you have done an excellent job of coaxing out the detail and color. The subject is great and the compositional elements all work well together. Good idea on making the roof a subtle shade of red. I think it gives the eye a place to rest.
I feel the tree and barn are two anchoring elements in your image and since I seem to like symmetry I suggest a crop that places them on either side of the image to balance each other out. I have also brightened the shot just a touch. I did clone some of the out of focus flowers because I felt they were a bit of a distraction since I kept looking at them instead of the barn and tree.
It does change the feel of the image somewhat, but what do you think about these adjustments?
