Thanks for your comment Alex. Good idea on the sand--seems like that is the way to go. I'll give it a try. |

Thanks Leo. Good idea for the golden hour. At that time of day the background would be the water which would be very nice. |

Thanks for your comment Lane. Yes, the roof is that saturated red color in real life. I think it might be metal and perhaps recently painted. |

Thanks Mark. I used a tripod only because I had it with me. As you observed by the shutter speed I really did not need it for the shot. |

Well Harley when you start with a great image you can do lots to enhance it. I like the impressionistic effect giving it an artistic look. There is much harmony in the colors and you did a good job enlarging the one lily pad.
I do agree with Linda that the original is a winner also. |

Interesting formation Mark. The tones and textures are very nice and if I were you I would turn this into a texture for Photoshop. I am guessing by the ISO and your light painting this that the rocks were a bit dark. Congratulations on the sharp image using one hand--I have trouble with two most of the time. |

You have photographed a great looking sunflower and I like the monochrome treatment. There is great texture and detail in the flower. Like Linda I feel the background is too close in tone to the flower. I feel if it were darkened somewhat, or maybe even a vignette, the flower would pop a bit more. |

Love it Linda. You have captured her essence. What a great face and you have coaxed out the colors so well in your processing. Indeed, Happy Birthday! |

Good catch Leo. You nailed the focus on the three butterflies and I think the water drop on the left one is a nice addition. Your depth of field is very slim in the shot and as Linda mentioned the foreground does catch our attention. You might just darken it a bit to tone it down.
I like the shot of the three of them, but an alternative would be to crop the one on the right out giving us a look at just the two "looking" at each other. |

Looks like a great place Alex. I like how you have framed the shot with tree on the right and how the mountains left and right draw my eye to the sunset then back to the table and the interesting roots on the ground. I see nice detail in the entire frame and you have achieved good color saturation.
You might consider cropping the tree trunk on the left out and as a suggestion for next time I feel that someone sitting at the table would make the shot even better. |
