Thanks for your comments Linda. Your subtle adjustment does look good, thanks. I did notice the tip of the leaf, but decided that it was OK with some of the texture in place thinking that it gave a softer, unstructured feel. |

Thanks Alex. I considered covering the leaf (it was the last one visible) but left it because I liked the little hairs along the edges. |

Mark, you have found a great subject for a portrait. I think the lighting is great and you have exposed it perfectly. I can see why you waited to ask for a photo. I do agree that there is something a bit "off" and I think it is the fact that the background and his shirt are both very "busy" and competing for attention. I took your image and gave it a grey background--what do you think? |

This is a striking image Linda. I like the leading line of the tree which brings me right into the photo to view an interesting tree hulk backlighted by an amazing sky. I think it all works very well and captures the viewers attention. I also like the detail and texture in the beach foreground which anchors the shot--I can almost feel the sand between my toes. I also think your choice to split the image in the middle with the horizon was the perfect choice for this image. I know there are those who would say "there is a rule against that" but you have demonstrated that rules are only just helpful guides that do not always apply. Good work. |

What an interesting subject and aptly named. You have captured some amazing detail and tones in your image Leo, I think it looks like I could reach in and touch the rocks. I also like how you have given a soft look to the water in the foreground which has the effect of moving the viewers eye to the main subject. I do feel that your main subject (the fist) is just a bit dark since I keep looking at the brighter rocks on the left. Just a note on the horizon it is just a bit crooked. All in all I really like your image. |

Alex you have captured a nice shot of this flower in my opinion. I like your composition and the shallow depth of field gives an interesting look. You have a mostly black background which sets off the flower and gives it strength. I do feel that the color in the upper left is a bit distracting though, perhaps a crop or maybe a slightly different camera angle next time. |
