Thanks for your comment Leo. I agree, bird photos that show action are more interesting than just portraits. Unfortunately this little guy did not feel like performing for me. |

Wonderful capture Harley. You nailed the focus and really got nice depth of field so we can see all the intricate lines and dots on this beauty. I like how the stem makes a lazy curve to the flower and, of course, the dark background. I think Linda's suggestion is a good one too. Nice work. Where did you find this flower? |

Well seen and well done Mark. The variety of shapes and shadows, lines and circles makes for a very interesting image. I feel the muted colors of the spherical marbles greatly add to the image giving a feeling of warmth. I do like the edit that Linda suggests making the whole image stand out. |

Choices, I know. I think this might have worked if the center row of boats was at the bottom of the stairs. BTW well done for handheld. |

I really like the detail you captured in the grasshopper. And the composition with it on the arching stem gives him a route to travel across the image. I feel your composition is just fine and would only like to see some of the hot spots toned down as Linda has shown. How far away from it were you when you took the shot? |

You have captured a great sunset sky at the marina Alex. I feel it is properly exposed and I like the order and symmetry of the boats at their docks. Were you trying for a leading line into the shot with the stairway? It works, but I feel that it is a bit distracting and limits the viewer from fully enjoying your photo. I think you want us to see the sunset and the rows of boats docked for the evening. A consideration for next time would be to shoot from the edge of the center dock giving more boat detail (center and both sides) while still capturing the beautiful sunset. Of course then you would lose the advantage of height and might need to make other adjustments. So many choices!

Nice composition and editing work Linda. I like how you have captured action in the image with the bird actively flapping its wings, either taking off or landing. The foliage on the right is a nice counterpoint to the bird giving us context. I like your new sky, but wonder why you added the reddish ring at the top? You have some nice detail in the bird, what lens did you use and how close were you to it? |

I like the surreal look you get from the infrared conversion Lane. I always feel that tree leaves look like cotton and the grass looks like it is snow covered. You have a nice leading line to the tree and it is interestingly ringed at the base with the tree line. Not being very familiar with the Olympus system is this a camera converted to IR or just an image converted to IR in Luminar 4? |
