Thanks for your comments John. I agree, Silver Effect Pro is top notch for Mono conversion. I use it as a plug in for Lightroom and Photoshop. |

Thanks Harley. Getting the motion blur in the props was mostly trial and error. I got a lot of blurred planes before I figured out the secret. I guess the added grain is about 50/50 with the members. It was just an experiment. |

Thanks Mark. I thought the grain enhanced the photo, but it looked just fine without it also, I see your point about the planes being more modern. |

I like what you have done here. The HDR worked out well and brought out nice detail in the shadows giving a good overall exposure. The aging effect, in my opinion, was the right choice for this image and gives it a nice old look. I also feel the colors came out well and are typical of cars of that era. I do feel that your crop is a bit tight though, but looking at the original I see you eliminated distractions. You might try a looser crop and try darkening the distractions at the edges to see if that works. |

What a cool street scene. Nice capture. I really like the colorful umbrellas and I am sure that is what drew you to this shot. In addition I think the open space at the bottom of the photo letting us view the umbrellas shadows before we see people is an excellent way to lead our eye into your image. There we view the hustle and bustle of the vibrant city as far as the eye can see. My only suggestion, perhaps for next time, I would like to see the symmetry of the shot taken dead center in the street instead of off to one side. |

I really like your background it is a very impressionistic look and the colorful flowers are quite beautiful. I like how you have positioned the red Zinnia and butterfly in sharp focus right up front against that soft background. It makes them the center of attention and obviously the main subject. I think I would like to see more of the colors of the butterfly though. While it presents a nice look I think if you had caught a bit more of the profile the story would be even better. |

I like your caption of this photo it fits right in with the three friends playing in the water. I like the fact that you chose a fast shutter to freeze the water which I feel adds dimension to your shot. I also like the contrasting colors and your crop showing the edge of the rock which gives a sense of place in my opinion. I do feel the background is a bit bright you might conciser darkening it a somewhat to help focus all attention on the boys. You might also want to clone out the green leaves in the very front of the rocks at the bottom of the shot. |
