Hi Charlie,
Nice macro presentation of poppy seeds. You managed to capture incredibly sharp details in these tiny seeds. The shapes, texture, and hint of color on the seeds are interesting. The reflections on the black background works well. Your patience and effort paid off. Great job.

Hi Neal,
This image made me smile. I see the eyes wide open staring at the spider, the keyhole looks like an open mouth, and lastly a big doorknob nose. So cute! The shadow leads me to the spider. Most importantly, you captured sharp details throughout. Well done. |

Hi Alane,
Handsome subject portrayed against the blurred green background. You captured the seagull's eye quite well. Your perspective and lighting are good. However, I agree with Murphy and Charlie in that the seagull should be sharper. |

Absolutely beautiful! Nicely composed with the coral flowers and brass holder against the black background. Well exposed. I might add a thin stroke around the image to frame your subject so the black background doesn't blend into the website's background.
Well done, Priscilla. I like it. |

Hi Tom,
Nice winter scene. Yes,the black and white conversion does show a cold, windy day with snowflakes in the air. Your choice of b&w added more contrast and improved the image. Good job. |

Hi Gerard,
Great composition. The bell tower is strong and towering. You captured the incredible details and beauty of the old building. The old chimneys as well as the windows adds interest. Nice texture on the shingles. Tack sharp throughout. I particularly like the shadows on the roof and siding. One minor suggestion would be to remove stray branch on upper right. Well done. |

Hi Kathleen,
Very interesting perspective of the Las Vegas strip (my favorite vacation). I like the guy on the scooter driving up into the frame and riding along without a helmet. You were lucky to catch a shot without any traffic. The buildings and palm trees add texture and lines and provide a good background for the story. I like the sepia tone. Nicely done. |

Hi Peter,
You captured all the lovely features of your model. Her face is flawless. I agree with Michael that a black background would improve the image. Nicely done. The original is powerful and I like it. |

Hi Michael,
Great image. This is a lovely, tranquil scene. Nicely composed. The foreground pulls my eye toward the famous tree. The reflections in the water add impact. However, I don't think you need all the sky, I agree with Peter and would crop below the clouds. For me,the image is very interesting beneath the sky. Either way, it's a fantastic image. Your color version in Group 3 is beautiful. I love the yellow tree against the blue sky. Well done. |

Hi Michael,
The original image is the merged HDR image. I attempted this process after watching Harold Davis's video on HDR and Black and White. He recommended converting the HDR image to b&w. This flower was probably not a good subject for b&w. I think it should be in color, which I prefer too. Thank you for your suggestions. |

Thank you for your comments, Peter. I prefer the color version. I tried converting it to mono after watching Harold Davis videos on YouTube. It didn't work well on this subject. I still have the flower, so I will try again using your suggestions. It will be in color. |
