Hi Charlie,
Simple and beautiful subject. You captured sharp details and tones on the crystal top. The golden tones do add impact. The subtle reflection on the surface is a plus. Your choice of the background and surface complemented the subject. Great shot. |

Hi Neal,
Great composition. The placement and shape of the green leaf leads my eye into the frame. The shadows on the leaf add interest. All the markings, colors, and texture on the critter are sharply captured. The details on these tiny creatures are fascinating. Thank you for sharing. Well done. |

Thank you, Gerard. My intent was to create a spooky scene, and your treatment of the moon adds to the mood. I like it. Your crop also improved the image. |

Hi Kathleen,
Nice composition of a father and son walking along the seashore. The pebbles provide good texture in the background. The image has good range of tones. Your perspective created nice diagonal lines along the shore. Your subjects stand out. There are so many good elements in this image. However, I do agree with Michael and Peter that some areas are too bright. Michael's edit is pleasing. Your images always provide a nice story. |

Hi Peter,
Great shot. You have captured fine, sharp details of the web and raindrops. The clean, darker background provides contrast and allows my eye to focus on the web. Nicely composed. The shape of the raindrops resting on the lines of the web creates an interesting design. Well done.
I also like your original image. It's a very peaceful scene.

Thank you Michael and Peter. I agree the image needs more foliage in the foreground. Next time I'll pay more attention. |

Hi Michael,
Creative composition with the Clematis head and seeds. Incredible sharp details throughout. Nice texture and lines. Love the shadows. Good exposure. I agree with you that your second version has too much negative space. I think this subject deserves center stage, so I cropped your second version to a square and placed your subject dead center. Exceptional job. I like it a lot. |

Hi Gerard,
I really like this image and the story. Black and white is my preference for cemeteries. It is nicely composed. The shadows lead me to the white gate, and the deep DOF carries my eye down the path toward the white clouds (heaven). Yes, it needed more contrast and your redo version is better. You mentioned you wanted the gates to be the focus. I edited your second version. In Lightroom, I applied a radial gradient around the gates and path, inverted the gradient, and darkened the background. I also reduced the noise a little. Perhaps you can tweak the gradient to your liking. |
