Hi Harriet,
Great environmental image. You caught a nice action shot as these Beauties were trotting home for supper. Good exposure and DOF. My only suggestion is to straighten the horizon a bit. This is a lovely image that makes me smile. |

Hi Stan,
Great shot. The details are sharp and the colors are naturally beautiful. It is well exposed. The lines and curves in the landscape lead my eyes to the dramatic sky. Nice texture throughout. This image deserves to be framed. Well done. I think this would also be a good candidate for black and white. |

Hi Norm,
Beautiful portrait of the dove. It is well exposed with sharp details. You captured the twinkle in the dove's eye. Nice texture on the feathers and branch. One suggestion would be to darken the bright green in the the background to give more attention to the dove. However, it is just my preference. The image is lovely. |

Hi Murphy,
Your presentation of this beautiful flower is lovely. The shape is unique. The upper closed blooms facing downward and the bottom open blooms facing upward keeps my eye in the frame admiring this beauty. The colors and raindrops add a calming tone to the image. The blurred background is perfect. Well done. |

Hi Neal,
The yellow cricket is striking against the black background. All the fine details are tack sharp. Your placement of the cricket makes it appear as a little monster ready to attack whatever lies beneath. I like it. Well done as usual. |

Hi Alane,
Your choice of black and white worked well. The raindrops add impact to the image. You did capture good details of the sunflower. I like the background of the faded flowers. Perhaps I might darken the center of the sunflower a bit to show more texture. Nicely done. |

Hi Randy,
Nice shot. Good lighting and sharp details. I remember the Photomats too (the good old days).
I don't have much experience as a street photographer, but I do have a suggestion. I cropped the image to eliminate body parts from being cut off (girl's feet and other girl's right arm). I also tried to focus on the three main images and the Kodak sign, so I applied a slight vignette. |

Now I understand your intent more clearly. You have succeeded in presenting the daffodil in it's "after life". It is ghostly. Nice idea. |

Hi Peter,
Nice portrait and pose. You captured her features in a flattering light. I see the twinkle in her eyes. I agree with Linda to lighten the background and make her stand out more. Well done. |

Hi Gerard,
Good composition. Great perspective. Your etched treatment makes it unique and adds impact. The corn stalks provided the lines leading my eye to the top of the hill. The scene is perfect for black and white. My only suggestion would be to darken the sky a bit. Nicely done. |

Hi Michael,
Lovely subject. I have always liked dried flowers. Your daffodil has dried out beautifully. My eyes are drawn to your original images. You have captured the texture and lines of the flower. The details are tack sharp. Well done. In my opinion, I think the original images portray the age and beauty of the daffodil more closely than your main image. All the fine details are hidden under the strong diffusion. Your color image would also be striking against a black background. |

Thank you for your kind comments, Michael. You mentioned a metallic look. It was unintentional, so I went back to see what steps I followed. My first thought is that it could be the light tent which has silver reflective sides. It may have caused a reflection on the flower.
Also, I didn't specifically backlight the flower. I only used the light within the light tent. I think the vase helped illuminate the center of the flower. It was crystal and probably picked up more light.
