19 Sep 21 Comment Hi Stan,
Great image. Your perspective of the bridge is interesting. The tree branches in the foreground create a natural frame for the subject. The repeating arches on the bridge draw my eyes through the image into the vanishing point. Well done as usual.

19 Sep 21 Comment Hi Marcela,
Wow, what a great find. The overall golden hue in the image especially in the sky is lovely. My preference would be to crop out the left side of the image starting with the dead tree. Then I would crop out the bottom up to the first row of flowers above the rock. I would try to change the color of the truck to a complementary shade of red to stand out more, or a color of your choice. This is a very pleasing and peaceful image. You captured it well.

19 Sep 21 Comment Hi Harriet,
Good story. This image brings a smile to my face. The texture and color of the hay and wood provide a nice background for these beauties. Following Norms thinking to decrease the shadows would improve the image. I noticed in the foreground that the perspective may need to be straightened a bit more.

19 Sep 21 Comment Hi John,
Nice subject. You captured sharp details of the shapes and texture inside and outside of this beautiful wooden boat. The reflections of the boat and colors in the water add interest. I agree with Norm to crop a little of the bottom of the image to give more focus on the subject.

19 Sep 21 Comment Hi Norm,
Well done. You succeeded in capturing a magnificent pose. Perfect exposure and sharp details on this beautiful bird. The background is nicely blurred with no distracting details. Perhaps I might darken the background a bit to give the bird more attention.

Very interesting subject. It emits a surreal quality. The details of the the weeds and seeds are tack sharp. The green background is perfect. No improvements needed. Nicely done.

63 Sep 21 Comment Hi Alane,
Nice image. Textured leaf on textured sand worked well. You captured sharp details on the leaf. The lighting on the varied warm tones of the leaf create a perfect image.

63 Sep 21 Comment Hi Richard,
You managed to present this common periwinkle in a lovely light. The color, raindrops, and background are pleasing to my eye. Nicely done.

63 Sep 21 Comment Hi Murphy,
I agree with Priscilla that the vibrant red leaves against the dark green background is powerful. The raindrops add to the story. It is a very pleasing image.

63 Sep 21 Comment Hi Pricilla,
You captured the lines, shapes, texture, and color nicely. The lighting is perfect. The dark background makes the golden subject pop. Well done. I have watched Mike Moats on Youtube. It must have been a great workshop.

63 Sep 21 Reply Hi Pricilla,
Thank you. I agree with you and Murphy that the rose would be better off centered. Interestingly I originally composed the rose to be off centered. Then I thought there was too much white in the frame so I cropped it. I have attached my original composition. Perhaps I should have left it alone. Thoughts?

99 Sep 21 Reply Hi Michael,
Thank you for your explanation. I do see the softness of the weeds. That's interesting. I've never used ND filters.
Perhaps you could post your images on our bulletin board.

We are here to learn and help one another. If Michael is willing to share some tips from his workshop, I'm sure many would welcome his comments.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Michael,
You have created an eerie, mysterious image. It is much better in b&w. Good composition, texture, lines, shapes, and shadows contribute to this fine photo. The window frame around the shadows works. You made the ordinary colored image more interesting with your magic touch. I also am curious why you used long exposure settings. Perhaps you could share your reasons with us. Thanks.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Randy,
Great street photography. Works well in b&w. I think the people are part of the story, and you captured them well. The man's back on the left is cut off. I might try to crop him out of the frame keeping the focus on the people walking. Nice image.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Linda,
You managed to capture a sharp, well exposed image of the gorilla. He seems to be smiling as he thinks. I agree that the original background is more suitable. The gorilla stands out more against a lighter background.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Peter,
I think it is a good abstract image. At first I see a skull, and then the dog as Gerard did also. My eyes are drawn into the frame trying to discover other hidden objects. The cracks add mystery. It held my interest.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Gerard
This is a unique and interesting subject. The contrast, shapes, and lines create interest. Yes I agree the background is distracting. My suggestion would be to darken the background leaving a little frame around the subject. You captured a sharp image. Very nice.

99 Sep 21 Comment Hi Randy,
Thank you. It was shot outside on a cloudy day. No fill flash or reflector was used. I took advantage of the natural light diffused by the clouds.
