Hi Stan
Thank you for that helpful information. I agree the sky looked wrong. So I created a duplicate background layer with a layer mask, and then went into Nik to apply the filter. Then I brushed away the filter on the sky. It worked and improved the image.😊. I learned something new today. |

Hi Marcela,
Nice image. The shape of these flowers are interesting. The colors of the flowers and background are pleasing to my eye. I especially like the lighting. I think you improved the image by removing all the greenery around the flowers. I wonder if you rotated the image horizontally so that stems lead you into the frame from left to right, if you would like it. |

Hi Norm,
Lovely image. The colors are stunning. It is well exposed, and the Iris is very sharp. The leaves provide a nice frame for the flower. Well done. |

Hi Stan,
You were lucky to catch a couple near the Bridal
Veil Falls adding to the story. This is a captivating image of the Falls, trees, and rocks. Well exposed. The fern in the foreground works well. I noticed a long brown object on the upper left side of the frame. I'm not sure if it was intended to be part of the composition. |

Hi Harriet,
I need to compliment you on another handsome member of your family. You captured a beautiful portrait. I do agree with Marcela in that it would be a good black and white image. After converting to b&w, maybe darkening the background would give Mr Doolittle more attention. You must have a nice collection of all your animals' photos. |

Hi John,
Great texture in the leaves and seed head. I think that wilted and dried flowers and leaves have more character than fresh blooms. I like the warm color of the seed head against the green background. My only thought would be to darken the two bright areas behind the seed head to give more definition to the subject. They are the same color and blend into the seed head. |

Hi Neal,
Perfect! The golden colored spider pops against the black background. I can see his eyes looking at me. Every hair and fiber on his tiny body is tack sharp. As always, well done. |

Hi Alane,
You managed to create a different presentation of "hands". This image must be striking in color, especially with the jewelry on her wrists. I'm sure you did well in the competition. Well done. |

Hi Gary,
Colorful and interesting composition. I see can nice texture in the subject rock. I never tried shooting with Lensbaby lenses, but I may try in the future. |

Hi Priscilla,
I agree with Neal and Murphy. The red flower is distracting. The composition is improved without it. The lovely pink and white flower stands out against the dark background. |

Hi Leanne
Well done. My only suggestion would be to flip the image horizontally so that the branches lead you in from left to right. Nice texture and contrast on the bird and branch. |

Hi Linda,
Great shot. The reflection in the water adds impact to the image. Well exposed and sharp. Great texture and lines throughout. I see clouds in the sky. Perhaps a little darker sky to show the clouds would add a little more to the image. It's fine as it is, but I just prefer more contrast in the sky. |

Hi Randy,
You managed to capture the twinkle in this beautiful bird's eye. This image is striking in black and white. The blurred background enhances the subject. Well done. |

Hi Michael,
Nice black and white image. After Gerard's crop suggestion, the foreground trees lead my eye up the mountain. You managed to capture great texture and lines. I would try to increase contrast on the right side of the mountain to enhance the texture a little more. I see you have the Nik Collection. You can use control points to add more contrast where needed. |

Hi Gerard,
Your original composition with the softer light in the second image would be perfect. One focused subject is preferred. Too much in power plant image. |

Hi Peter,
You captured a very nice portrait of your friend. His black shirt and hat works well for a black and white image. Good exposure and well composed. The window frames his face nicely. His features are very sharp. I wonder if you cropped off the bottom of the image just below the collar of his shirt thereby creating a square headshot image. Then you could eliminate the out of focus leaves. Just a thought. |

Hi Gerard
Very creative composition. Nice texture on the stone, bottle, and flower. I like how you can see the stem in the bottle. The lighting enhances the flower and leaves. However, I do agree with Michael about the light behind the bottle. Its a bit too bright, and distracts my eye from the flower. Perhaps a diffused light source set away from the bottle would render a softer light, and keep my eye focused on the tulip. |
