Nice capture at the nice timing, Ed.
The clouds do the job. No worries of the over sharpening.
That's not too bad for me.
Nice shot of city scape with good stories. |

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for sharing.
I would not change anything. The cloud does not bother my sight, people are well captured and gives the viewers of "sense of scale". Nice.
Only my question is why you wanted to make it BW.
I like the color version. Orange color is powerful to make a big impression of the subject, which is lost in BW conversion. You might have some objectives of BW conversion, which I could not get it. |

Very nice, Trevor.
BW looks much powerful to present patterns. I would not increase the contrast, I like as it is. It deliver the natural light coming through the window. It has unique mood.
Well done!

Hi Giovanna,
Great shot! I love this. I like the story. Texture and details are well presented, and tonality is great. The man at the back add another story as well.
Great photo.
Well done. |

Hi Ed,
Thank you for sharing.
Both are great and have different character and theme, so I cannot say which is which.
Interesting that color version has blue tone included. Where does that come from?
Anyway, good attempts.

Hi Robert,
Sorry that I could not submit my image this month, but let me jump in to make comments.
As you know I like the image with subtleties. So I like overall direction you are heading for this.
I especially like how the light hitting the mountain ridges. That's for me the highlight of the image. I feel as if I am standing at the overlook in early in the morning, breathing the fresh air, and feeling great!
Now, compositionally, the nearest layer is a bit too powerful for me, although it is not so dark.
And I perfer to increase the contrast just a little more. Or I would increase the black tones a little without damaging the mood.
I am attaching my attemt here. |
