Your photo caught my immediate attention. Might I ask what filter you used in post processing. I'm looking for a similar expression on a photo I'm currently editing. |

Thank James for you comments. I will try increasing the ISO next time. I was close to blowing out the whites. |

Hi Charissa:
I like to concept of the image and have done a couple of shots similar to this where I placed the flowers on a mirror. I think the rice paper was a nice touch with the flower stems. |

Hi Karen:
I like the concept of the image. The focus seems a little soft to me. I'm not sure if you meant to have the shears cut out of the photo. I think the vase and the flower were enough and the other items may be slightly distracting. I do like your background and tabletop choice for the photo. |

Hi Ruth:
Interesting shot. I think you have good focus and lighting for the set up. I agree with Charissa that your subject may be set too close to the background. I would also like to see a little more room on the sides of the image. |

Hi Zina:
I will see what I can do with the plastic sheathing hanging from the wall. This photo is one of those that will keep me working. |

Thank you, Carol. This was definitely a ratty old alley. And truthfully, I never felt safer than I was in Lisbon. Having a Portuguese husband helps. |

Hi Rick:
It's always great to try new things. This is the only way we find out what works and what does not.
For such a little guy you did capture the focus on part of his body. I would encourage you to think about subject matter and how it's positioned in the photo. The top of his head and the bottom of his feet are cut off.
Keep experimenting in photography. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Hi Pauline:
What a wonderful photo for the month of October. He is a little creepy. Most times we see a spider photo it's from the top of face front. This is interesting for the underside. Very good focus on this one. |

Hi Carol:
I like the adjustments you made with the sky. This helped direct your attention to the lighthouse. I'm trying to decide if a different perspective of the height you were standing at would make the image better. The platform of the lighthouse is nearly at the same level of the water horizon.
I wish I was a better photographer to tell you if higher or lower would have been better. We are all learning together. |

Hi Zina:
Wow - 4 hours of watching this must have been amazing. I take some night photography and sometimes your only options are to set the focus at infinity. I think your camera setting are correct. The only thing I might have done would be to adjust the vertical in the manual transformations to straighten the trees and run a denoise program for finish. Other than that, I bet it was a night to remember. |

Hi Alec:
Sorry for miss-titling your image. I'm still on a learning curve for setting our photos up.
One has to chuckle at the faces of these men. They must be hardened warriors.
Oh, to travel and see other sights. I wish you could have captured the entire parade of soldiers on horseback. It appears that some horses are caring equipment while riders look cut off at the waist. The two men at the front are the best. They say it all.
