Hello LuAnn, Congratulations on your Color Photo of the Year win!
Your photo tells the story really well. However, I liked the original better because in my view it captured the time and mood of the day when light is soft and temperature is down. The color of the morning light on the man's face matched well with the color of the boat. The fog and the darker background kept my eyes focused on the boat and the man and made me think I wish I was on that boat at that time and at that place.
I brought down the overall exposure and highlight a bit and darken the background slightly, the way I think I would present the photo. Looking forward to seeing more of your work |

Hi Lance, I like the abstractness and painting like appearance of the scene. The fog helped to create different shades of grey tone. I like the photo a lot |

Hi Jon, this is a great documentary photo of the damage caused by hurricanes in your area. The silhouette of the broken branches against the grey sky stood out nicely and conveyed the message clearly. I like what you saw and presented here |

Hi Ally, this is a beautiful capture of ducklings in the water. The exposure nicely captured both black and white sections of the body nicely. Two additional things in the photo is also noteworthy. 1. The feather and the right leg (same angel) sticking out from one of the ducklings provided a nice break. 2. The subdued texture created on the water was captured nicely and something for eyes to focus on besides the ducklings. |

Hello Tom, loved your "Enchanted Lane" photo. It beautifully highlighted the different shapes of the main trunk and the branches that are hugging each other on the top. I like that you presented the pure beauty of the Nature without including a person walking away from the camera. I would make a rectangular format by cropping a bit from the left side |

Hi Mike, great capture of the mood of a foggy and cloudy day. I liked the leading path framed by the bushes in the photo taking us to the two people observing the scenery. I would most probably crop the top half of the cloudy sky. |

Hi Ally, I am glad you liked it and I appreciate your comments. The stagecoach took quite a big space in the photo but I liked its distinctiveness. I think without it the photo would not be that interesting. |

Hello Tom, thank you for your comments. The original color image was nice and colorful, something that our eyes are quite used to seeing. I think the B&W version is more expressive and artistic. |
