Dianne, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately I do not have info on the settings. I took this photo about 8 years ago when I made transition to digital. I lost the metadata for lacking enough knowledge about digital photography at the beginning and also changed my computer twice since then |

I liked the original because the background is sufficiently muted to keep attention on the leaves with water droplets. Unfortunately, I found the unevenness of the texture is bit distracting. |

Hi Cecilia, welcome to the group and thanks for your comments. I agree with you that in the color version both the leaf and the droplets are equally prominent and provided a pleasing view. In sepia version that balance is lost and droplets are sharper and dominant. Although that is what I chose to present here I understand that a pleasing beauty is present in the color version |

Hi Jose, thanks for your comments. I liked the color version of the photo also and it did well in Northern California competition. I increased the clarity on the water drops for the sepia version and I agree that it took away the feeling of the drops rolling out of the leaf, visible in the color version |

Hi Lance, thanks for your thoughtful comments on the original and the BW version of the photos. I agree with you about the color version providing a better representation of the balance of the drops and the context that created the beauty |
